I picked up a paint lot on eBay that included a can of the new Retributor gold spray. I am trying to determine what the best use of this will be.

Would it be a good idea to spray the models prior to clipping them and then just touch up the clipped areas with a brush? This seems like it might give the best coverage.

Or would It be better to just assemble them and spray after?

If spraying after assembly I would just spray the hard to reach areas as a base and then brush the rest to save the can due to the high cost.

I used a can on my AoS starter set minis and I had great results. I stuck them to a spray stick and used architects tape on the parts I was going to paint other colors and then just sort of went to town. It covers well and I found that by dipping my spray stick in all the directions I was able to get full coverage after 2 light coats 20 minutes apart.

Edit: I forgot to say that I had assembled the minis fully before spraying and I still have plenty of paint left in the can for another batch.

Did you prime the figures prior to spray painting or did you use the Retributor Gold as sort of a primer?

I primed them using Vallejo black acrylic surface primer and let them sit over night.
