I gotta vote for the bully boyz formation. They're tough enough to hold their ground, and pack a decent punch as well.

I tabled crons in turn 3 once with my Zhadsnark and Bullyboyz list. But i got very very lucky on my charge rolls..

I do play Crons as well.. And yes i am one of those players that says Necrons lack mobility,.. in general...

With that i mean the bulk of the Necron force ofc.. Blades/Flyers Wraiths and Scarabs are mobile enough. But those arent realy the units that you need nor want at your objectives.. They all go down quick,.. except wraiths.

Anyways,...

Drops any battlewagon you got and just go for trukks. Thats 3 trukks you can buy instead of a B wagon. This way Gauss has less of an impact.

Bikers going down to Tomb Blades? I dont see how.. Yes blades can ignore cover... boohoo.. still a 4+ Armour save against AP5 gauss. Bikers are fast! And they hurt cron infantry realy hard. I have had Zhadsnark go toe to toe with wraiths multiple times and to date Zhadsnark has prevailed more times than the Wraiths. His squadmates are less lucky though Just drop a painboy with a bike in that unit!

Lootas tear through Cron infantry like Tau cuts through anything.

Dakkajets are failry good against cron infantry as well. Against vehicles not so much ofc but hey that is where powerklaws come in ofc

I have played against 3 Necron players with Orks and i must say... I dont find Crons that hard to play against with Orks.. Dark Eldar, Tau, Astra Militarum, Eldar en Tyranids and the occasional Daemon(kin) list are a whole other story... that is a uphill fight that makes you hate the Ork dex... I rarely win against those...

You don't actually play Necrons. The only thing lacking mobility is Immortals and Lychguard, and Tomb Blades are actually AP4.

Big Choppas are AP 5 so they don't cut through Warrior armor (I wish they where AP4 so they could be two handed Power Mauls). Big Choppas do work with that +2 str but cutting through armor isn't not their strong point

Really? I could have sworn they were AP4.

Yeah, when i read the small novel that is the Death Guard unit options and think about resolving the attacks from a melee-oriented min size death guard squad, the thing that springs to mind is "Accessible!"

You're not. If you're worried about your opponent using 'fake' rules, you're having fun the wrong way. This hobby isn't about rules. It's about buying Citadel miniatures.

Thanks all for good ideas!
As I said, the Night Scythes arekilling me (and of course them dropping of people all over the board). I have an idea though, wanna hear your thoughts on it.
I'm thinking;
Bullyboyz formation
2x5 Meganobz in trukks.
5 Meganobz & 1 Warlord (MA, PK, DLS) in trukk
2x10 Lootaz
3 Traktor kannons

The idea is to let the Lootaz and Traktor kannons lay fire on the Night Scythes to keep them on Jink=less damage on my troops.
Keep the trukks back until round two or three (the other guy has all his Night Scythes in reserves) while lootaz and Traktor kannons keep firing at everything that's in sight and then just crash right in with two trukks and keep the Warlord trukk back a little. Hopefully, at least one Night Scythe is taken out by then which means the necrons inside must start from their own table edge. When his Warlord enters I'll try to get my Warlord squad in CC to wipe them out.

Any thoughts on this?

So long as he's not using any long range weaponry that can threaten to cripple your trucks before you get your guys in range (Heavy Destroyers, Stalkers, Doomsday Arks, etc) it could work.

MA Lucky Stikk boss is unkillable to Necrons outside of CC. He can tank for a really beatstick unit.

Bully Boys is also a great formation that necrons can have difficulties with. As for scythes, I definitely recommend Lootas or Traktor cannons.

Aftermath can be calculated.
