Deff Dread Base Attacks = 3 and comes with 2 PKs, stock.

On the Charge a stock Deff Dread gets how many attacks? 4 or 5?

Thanks,
G

Bonus attacks for additional close combat weapons are never included in the base profile. Therefore:

Stock: A3, +1 for 2CCW, +1 for charge = 5.
3ccw's = 6.
4ccw's = 7.

Note that this is because Walkers receive a special exception to the normal limit on extra ccw's (a theoretical infantry model with 4 ccw's only gets a +1 bonus).

An Infantry model with 4 would get +2 attacks

Number of Attacks, p49 wrote: +1 Two Weapons: Engaged models with two single-handed weapons (often a Melee weapon and/or pistol in each hand) get +1 Attack. Models with more than two weapons gain no additional benefit; you only get one extra Attack, even if you have four arms and a sword in each.
Walkers and Assaults, p91 wrote:If a Walker is armed with two or more Melee weapons, it gains +1 bonus Attack for each additional weapon after the first. Unlike other models, this is not limited to a single bonus Attack, so a Walker with three Melee weapons would have 2 bonus Attacks. If one of its additional Melee weapons is destroyed, one bonus Attack is lost. If the destroyed weapon is a Dreadnought close combat weapon, the Walker loses the bonuses conferred by that Dreadnought close combat weapon.

What are you even saying, why would an infantry model with 4 CCW get +2 attacks

Probably included 1 Attack for the Charge.

I thought that because one had 4 CCW that one would get +2 attacks (my only knowledge of a model being able to do so is a techmarine w/ servoharness but apparently i am mistaken

The standard rule is that only 1 single bonus Attack is granted for multiple Melee weapons. You can be better armed than Rambo, Master Chief, Serious Sam, and Gordon Freeman combined, and it would still be one single bonus Attack.

Walkers (and some select others) have a rule that overrides that limit. There aren't many Walkers that can currently do this, though, and are mostly Ork or Chaos Daemon Engines.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

I hadn't thought of Techmarines, so there really is a non-Walker model that can have 4ccws, interesting!

Servo-arms and -harnesses used to be bonus attacks with a separate profile (in 5th and earlier editions I think it was), so it's a little disappointing they're all bundled in now.

Those 4 ccws with the tech still don't actually do anything unless you give the tech 2 non-specialist weapons that he might actually want to use though(then the servo arm actually gets a bonus attack).

Servo Harness comes with two such Weapons, and that restriction does not apply if you are using his Power Axe or Pistol.

Yes, I am aware of that and that was sort of what I was saying.

With axe and arm(or harness) you wouldn't actually bother with the axe&arm is same ap, same I, better S)

So if you went with power spear or maul( paid for because the axe was free and specified) and pistol, or just went john woo with a pair of grav-pistols(2 grav pistol shots and a flamer/plasma cutter shot for a fairly shooty non-beamer); you could swing at initiative for the bonus attack(which, yes, you would get with just the spear/maul, no pistol, or just a pistol, no axe/second pistol) but without as much versatility.

The harness' only real benefit in melee is the bonus attack with the arm itself(the extra shooting and repair bonus are not being discussed here at the moment as we are talking about melee rules, not tactics).

So, yeah, tech with harness has 4 weapons, only ever gets 1 bonus attack for those, and is pretty versatile.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
