Chaos and Sisters are in dire need of some update but we all know how GW feels about these armies.
IG and Nids need some work to help them but it seems too soon for Nids given they had a 2014 release AND had a wave of models released in Q3/4 2014.
Personally I am 100% happy if GW leaves the Inquisition as is for the next year or two but knowing my luck they will sneak an Inq update in January 2016, take out the same bloody nerf bat they took to the GK, and start working on their power swings at the expense to my Xenos Inquisitor's Retinue.
Also they are called Tau, Fish People, anime fan Space Commies, Blue Gits, or the Destroyers of the Grimdark Fluff. Not Tao
The main problem with Chaos Marines is how to address the model line, as it's been ignored for so long that it's really at the level Dark Eldar were at before their 5th ed re-release...
Plastic kits that are fine;
- Raptors/Warptalons
- Possessed
- Hellbrute
Plastic kits missing 50% or more of their basic options;
- Chaos Space Marines (no power fist, power maul/axe/lance, missile launcher, autocannon, lascannon)
- Chaos Terminators (pretty much just a garbage kit as you can't even build a basic 5x combi-bolter + power weapon unit!)
- Khorne Berserkers (only 6 chainaxes for 12 models!)
Finecast kits needing plastic versions;
- Havocs (which also only come with 1x each heavy weapon, making them near-useless AND horribly expensive!)
- Plaguemarines
- Oblits
- Mutilators
Finecast upgrade packs needing proper plastic kits;
- Noise Marines
- Thousand Sons
- Chaos Biker upgrades
Kits missing entirely;
- Chosen
- Chaos Cultists (5 mono-pose DV models that are webstore only don't count!)
No other mainstream army is in such a horrific state as Chaos Marines are. Even Eldar now have less Finecrap than we do!

I feel bad for Chaos Space Marine and Sisters of Battle players, the former gets heaps of new kits every time but no actual updates to existing models in desperate need of a rework (exceptions being Raptors and arguably Helbrutes). In the case of the latter....model support? What's that?

Eh, we don't even really get "heaps" of new kits...
With the 4th ed codex, we got a re-boxing of our basic grunts, a dysfunctional Termie kit, Possessed, and the Termie Lord kit. Plus a Space Marine Vindictator that simply had the 2 Chaos upgrade frames thrown in.
So, 3 "new" kits, of which the most highly anticipated (Termies) was a complete bust as it's impossible to build any kind of playable unit from just a single box.
We missed out on 5th edition entirely.
With our 6th ed codex, we got the Raptor/Warptalon kit, Mauler/Forgefiend kit, Hellturkey and a couple clampacks no one wanted. (fugly Sorc + 'uber expensive Champ)
Then last year we got a 'wave' release of the Hellbrute, which was replacing the ancient 2nd ed. Dreadnought!
Our releases have just been barely averaging on 'standard 2-4 kits/clamshells'. I know that some recent codices have been released with 0 models, but those armies on the whole have been essentially 'complete' lines with recent, up to date model lines.

Another thing to note also is with the release of the demonkine codex, there is no actual Chaos lord on juggernaut kit in gws product shelf.
Sadly gw will confuse the Chaos sales of aos as aos being popular, however the reality is that Chaos players in 40k are so desperate for new stuff they are canabalizing / converting aos stuff to fill holes in the 40k line.
There are so many videos on converting the warriors into berserkers and the juggernaut lord into a 40k version.
However if anyone at gw had a marketing education and did any market research they would figure this out.

Strangely Beautiful Daemonette of Slaanesh

Chaos Marines especially are at the point where pretty much our entire model line bar the Raptors/Warptalons + Hellbrute + newer Daemon engines needs to be thrown in the trash bin and overhauled from the ground up.
I highly doubt GW will take the time or risk on such a venture, especially as Little Timmy is perfectly happy how his Speesh Mhureens currently kick the living crap out of Chaos with 0 effort.
This is why I'm planning a small Noise Marine force almost entirely out of Forgeworld 30k Emperor's Children line up. Hack the Blastmaster into the Palantine when needed and change out the Termie weapons. Sicaran Battle tanks and those sweet Deimos Rhinos mixed with a Contemptor, Sonic Dreads and those sweet, sweet bikes!
Screw GW.

You got much more than Necrons did. We lost a huge amount of character, wargear, customisation... and got a single lord. Seriously... we can't even use our IA12 stuff ATM.

I'm sure Jervis and the boys will think that's perfectly balanced.

I dont understand GWs treatment of chaos. They know as fans, we're hopelessly addicted to the product, & that no matter how bad we'll buy. But doesn't someone up in the management brain trust at GW know that if they make a new 3.5 dex we'll mortgage our homes for more plastic crack? They say that their a miniatures company. That they don't care about rules, & that fluff only comes one step ahead of that. If mini's were their number one concern ('cause we're a miniatures company first)they'd have fixed the csm basic, core boxes. I mean we bought crap tons of ugly 1990's miniatures & still do. Imagine if they put good figures AND good fluff together! Its just cut and paste at this point! Take all the existing legion & cult material and recycle recycle it. Please.
I dont like agreeing with Martel, but we had more debuffs in our new codex than buffs. With just a comprehensive faq we could arguably be doing better as a chapter with our old codex.

Excuse me while I play the world's smallest violin for you... The Necron model line is almost entirely a 100% complete up-to-date plastic line. The only kit that needs replacing atm are Warriors & Destroyers.
The rules for Necrons are downright amazing, and you guys were the first to get the Decurion styled force org.
On the other hand, half of our options don't even exist in our model line!
We have literally 3 serviceable plastic kits outside of our vehicle options, (Raptors/Warptalons, Termie Lord & Possessed).
The majority of our units we can take are still finecrap.
Our rules and unit upgrade options are basically exactly the same as they were in 3rd edition!!
The only "new" things we've seen are a handful of Daemon Engines and a couple of new units that didn't even work in the edition they were designed for... While everyone else has been getting heaps of new toys, we're still stuck with the exact same Plasma guns & Autocannons we've been limping around with since 3rd edition was considered "new".

Am I the only CSM player actually nervous about getting an even more Restrictive, (you MUST take these crap units!) Random (roll this chart, and uh oooh!), and "Fun" (zoamygodz!) type codex, with more risks than rewards because CHAOS!!!!!

Features for the new CSM codex:
-Random god alignment
-Random weapon loadouts
-Fewer options to represent unmaintained technology
-Corrupted power armour gives CSM a 4+ save for the same reason
- Ld 5 across the board to represent lack of cohesion
-Valid LoW choice? Nah.

To properly represent the shifting nature of chaos, god alignment and weapon loadout have to be rerolled every turn with a rule stating that you cannot roll the same result twice in a row. Each of these tables will also have a result that damages the unit because reasons.
People will then complain that this gives all units access to mark of nurgle and that units may roll for an autocannon. They still declare that the Heldrake is OP.

Ld5 is considered a bonus, as they no longer pay for Ld 7+, despite having taken an army wide price increase.
