Quick and dirty list but with Orks it depends on the rest of the army. Boyz for example are fairly meh but the core of a Green Tide list (and Green Tide is a tournament capable army).
The Good:
Tankbustas
Warbikers
Painboy
Warboss
Meganobz
Mek Guns (certain ones)

The Bad
Burna Bommer
Nob Squad on foot (to my own personal dismay)
Gorkanaut/Morkanaut
Killa Kanz
Looted Wagon
Kommandos (if somebody knows how to use them well please let me know)

Everything else is varying degrees of decent with things like Lootas being more towards the good side while Stormboyz are more towards the bad but generally have some niche use like being an objective grabber, specialist unit, or part of a overall tactic like the Battlewagon in a Blitz Brigade. Even the often moaned about Trukk is incredibly effective as a Meganobz delivery system and often used to drive around groups of tankbustas in tournament lists.

As Brother SRM said 1d4chan Ork Tactics is a great resource to figure out what does what and what is great/terrible.

"Hold my shoota, I'm goin in"
Armies (7th edition points)
7000+ Points Death Skullz
4000 Points
+ + 3000 Points "The Fiery Heart of the Emperor"
3500 Points "Void Kraken" Space Marines
3000 Points "Bard's Booze Cruise"

While the Stompa is a pretty decent superheavy, starting out with a 700+ point LoW isn't a great idea before you have the boyz to back it up. It's expensive, but with a couple of ways to give it an invuln save and the option to add Meks to make repair rolls, it can do quite well.

Kommandoes are fine in min squads with 2 specials to score points. Or as an odd squad with Snikrot. They'll work fine enough. For orks.

other good units:
deffkotas
warbuggies

though outdated models most people just custom build their own. you want many cheap vehicles with decent dakka then run these guyz in droves.

"dont put all yer boyz in one trukk" "umless its dredds, then take as much uf those as possible"

I got 10 deffcoptas with rokkits as part of a big ebay lot. I like them as proxies for buggies. Both have roughly same footprint.
