So I've recently been given some free Eldar models...I don't want to start a Eldar army... However I was wondering if fluff wise it could make sense that some Eldar could be corrupted by chaos? I was thinking Slaanesh themed Eldar models. Would it make sense for models like Wraithguard, Wraithlords, etc...

If so I would field them with a Slaanesh army as corrupted Eldar but still follow the come the apocalypse rules.

At one time definitely yes.

Spoiler:

Top right picture of the image.

That said this is Warhammer 40K. There could be some Eldar who have turned to worshipping Chaos whose souls (for some reason) have not yet been devoured.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I suppose one unexplored way to avoid having your soul consumed and snuffed out by Slaanesh upon death is to dedicate your soul to her (or another Chaos God) in life. If you managed to reach daemon status, you'd survive.

Well, there are Slaaneshi Eldar Priests back on the Crone Worlds, but they were the ones who engineered Slaanesh's birth in the first place, so Eldar might not be accepted anymore.

To quote a fictional character... "Let's make this fun!"

The Eldar have safeguards against the temptations of Chaos - but they are not always enough. The mortal mind and body is weak........

There is no fluf reason why you can't have a Chaos Eldar army - they might be recent converts, the corrupted husks of a ship or minor craftworld devoured by the warp / Eye of Terror (FFG has explored this) or even ancient Eldar that have emerged from the Eye of Terror.

As is mentioned - the other Chaos Gods can protect from Slaanesh - and would love to do so. Perhaps they appeared to the Eldar in the guise of the ancient gods - after all they were consumed by Chaos and now (and likely always did) form part of them.

Anyway its your army and your models - do as thou wilt.

Maybe they have a debt of gratitude to Nurgle after learning he saved Isha. Maybe a similar debt of gratitude to Khorne for saving Khaine. Maybe the powers of Tzeentch appeal to a Farseer and she thinks she can riddle out a way to be free of Slaanesh, or maybe they think that by winning Slaanesh's favor she'll show them mercy. Choose your favorite and make it happen.

I'm suddenly tempted to make an Eldar army under the banner of Necoho.

Well I think you need to split up the models first that you got into some categories, Wraithguard / lords have a bit of necromancy to them if I remember right. They're brought back into the wraith 'shell' to do the bidding of war. So I think as far as Wraith type units go it would be more fitting with 1k sons, Rubric's. Far as living units guardians, warlocks, dire avengers etc. sure they could be Slaanesh but there would have to be a really strange reason why. I think it would have to do with Tzeentch influencing them but he only got his hold on the Wraith units where the living went to Slaanesh.

There is the whole spirit stone dilemma as well with the living units that could make a stopping point for Slaanesh's direct influence of wanting there soul and trying to figure out how to get them to remove the spirit stones or something while they are in a confused haze of modest devotion but not zealous. I think Slaanesh would be humored by Eldar devoted, consider how the Emperor's Children make a mockery of things. Then there is the whole Harlequin divide that can support Slaanesh too. It's possible but it be pretty rare if not super rare.

Most things can be corrupted by Chaos. As stated above, I can't recall any fluffy reason as to why there wouldn't be an Eldar party corrupted by Chaos, I mean come on.. the galaxy is huge.

Also, Wraithguard possessed by daemons would be awesome looking.

Isn't Dark Eldar the effect of Chaos on the Eldar?
The fall of the Eldar and birth of slaneesh etc etc, I'm not really that up to date with everything but isnt it like in WHFB the Dark Elves came with the birth of Slaanesh and was corrupted by her?
Though not fully devoted to chaos yet but affected.

Not quite.

The Dark Eldar are what the Eldar were like pre-fall, albeit without any Psychic powers.
