I really don't know much about AoS to be honest. I have been doing a little research and it just seems confusing to me. I have seen it being played more and more at the couple of FLGS 's that I frequent.... So I thought maybe I would give it a try. For reference- I play 40K. I have a lot of 40 K armies. My first and foremost love has always been Chaos. I have over 35k worth of pts in 40k for chaos alone. None of my other armies could really be represented in AoS. I can field full armies of Khorne, Tzeentch or Nurgle Daemons in 40k. I have "some" Slannesh but not a lot and from what I've heard- Slannesh isn't in AoS???
Anyhow, I obviously realize I can't field the CSM portions of my Chaos armies- but how viable are Daemon armies.. Or, are they even allowed the way 40k daemons could double for WFB Daemoms?

Thank you- I appreciate all constructive comments.

Well you can run a daemon army in AOS the thing is with slaanesh is that she/he is mixed up in the aelf story line and that all of her followers are congregating in the realm of shadows. That's all we know so far and currently the story line looks to be dealing with death next vampire counts/tomb kings.

Plus the nice thing about daemons is that now you can just slap round bases on them and use them for both AOS and 40k. I say overall they are the cheapest army to do if you are planning to play both systems.

I don't see why you can't play with Slaanesh forces in AoS anyway - they all have stats scrolls and you can simply ignore the fluff for gaming purposes, unless you're *really* keen on following the fluff...

Slaanesh's followers are still about - they are just a bit upset at the moment because their god does not seem to be talking to them! So yes, they are still completely viable.

And yes, your 40k daemon army is easily usable in AoS - I have actually been going in the other direction, painting up daemons for AoS and discovering I have also been doing an army for 40K!

If you want to dip in and give AoS a whirl, with your daemons you already have everything you need to start. They are perfectly viable and fit in well with the 'fluff'. If you want to give your armies a fantasy slant quickly and easily, perhaps pick up someone like Valkia the Bloody and have her lead your Khorne daemons - she goes on regular hunts in the Mortal Realms and ranks of daemons would be the perfect bodyguard for her!

The suggestion I would make is to rebase the Deamons onto 32mm. That will match the GW design team as they put all fantasy 25mm squares into 32mm rounds. I know Deamons come with 25mm rounds but this is due to 40k, where we are now seeing a shift to 32mm for larger models too.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)
