Seems like Nids would be a great choice for a Kill Team. Very inexpensive point-wise (even with devourers), and only one or two Synapse creatures needed to hold Synapse. Main reason I ask is that my local GW is having a Late Night event on 10/31, and we are thinking about playing quick Kill Team games so that everyone who wants to play can.

So, are Nids a good choice... especially the Swarmy kind?

Thanks

They can be very good, I'm actually a big fan of kill team. It offers a very different way to play the game!

I have never actually played as nids but I did face them in a kill team and lost to them with my guard.

Suggest the Hearlds of Ruin typeset. It's really good but I haven't kept up on it so I don't know how updated it is.

Nids should be good, sneak in a dakkafex

I second the heralds of ruin rules. It really balances kill team.

I've had great success with nids in kill team, my genestealers are actually pretty good. I usually like to pack a biovore too because it forces my opponent to not group close together and gunline me while I run up and tear them apart.

Another for the Herald of Ruin rules. Pretty balanced, with fun customising options.

I just played some hor the other night after only having played standard. Gotta recommend it if just for the fun army building.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Where do you find these rules?

I've read the regular rules and really want to play but not found people with interest.

I'm thinking of running something fairly simple and swarmy:

Troops
11 x Fleshborer Termagants
11 x Hormagaunts

Elites
2 x Zoanthropes

Tarpitted.

Another vote here for Heralds of Ruin KT. It's my preferred way of playing 40k, especially when my friend and I are using the campaign rules for it.

Heralds of Ruins are usually the only thing I play - It's fun, fairly balanced and can be a blast with close combat centered forces, like Orks and Tyranids!

I like the idea, played some versions of kill team. Did not like most and hated some.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The problem with it is that most rule sets greatly favour one army / or type of units above the other.
Especially when they introduce extra rules such as awareness sight based on I stats.

I haven't played but I've seen a few games I feel they off that nice change from a giant slogging army to a more personal elite team which can have much more narratives thrown in. I'm really keen to give this a go just need to find some more
