I bought the above model off ebay and the seller couldn't remember what paints were used. Now I've managed to figure out a match for the gray and the purple, but the dark aqua greenish blue colour on the scales has really eluded me.

I've tried PP's range of Arcane Blue and Meredius blue, but they don't match (they aren't as green and a bit brighter than the above colour) - Does anyone have any idea of what paint may have been used for the scales? I really like the colour scheme, and want to match it with the rest of the models I'll be painting myself.

Thanks,
David

p.s. Pictures 4-6 show a truer colour of how it looks normally in real life, the first 3 show the colour a little brighter than it actually is

looks like it could be Trollblood Base, and then some Armor Wash over it...
it shouldn't be too hard to match that color, but you may have o experiment a bit...
don't be afraid to mix in a little Coal Black if you feel you are not getting a dark enough color, or some Iosan Green if you need to liven up the aqua tone...

good luck!!!

cheers

Thanks for the post man, appreciate it

Yeah I just went down town and the only paint I could find in stock which looked similar in colour was Citadels Sotek Green, and its very very similiar, although its not dark and green enough (by a slight amount) Hmmm, time to experiment

Try Thunderhawk Blue. It looks wrong in the pot, but dry, it's a green.

The armor panels on these Militarum Tempestus Scions are painted Thunderhawk Blue and its also the color I'm painting my Necrons and IMHO isn't green. Maybe you're thinking of Temple Guard Blue?

Nah I'm just colourblind, it's the colour I paint my Orks because to me it looks teal.

Good chance its Stegadon Scale Green or Thunderhawk Blue.

Yeah, Thunderhawk Blue is a greyish blue color along the lines of slate blue or federal blue.
