They never come up in conversation with orks, but would be an incredibly fun conversion.

They're only 70 more points than a battle wagon but seem infinitely better.

Anyone's thoughts?

My best friend loves these guys and we have a blast playing Orks vs CSM. I personally love them just because they're Orky, but tabletop wise they're tough little buggers to crack if you throw in 15 Shooti anything. They are a good transport for anything choppy, but shooti makes them shine!

What book is that from? I have IA 8 that has the stats for the Squiggoths, but they're not nearly that good. If they were, I'd consider using it.

Yes, I definitely want to test one out. They seem like they would perform very well as a shooting platform. (High toughness, solid armor save, ability to easily get cover saves) Place a big unit of lootas in them and just blast away from your back lines (preferably protecting another unit, such as Mek Guns). Conversely, give them a unit of Flash Gitz/Tank Bustas/heck, even burna boyz and advance alongside your other forces to add another wave of attacks. Heck, put a solid close combat unit in one and advance behind a wave of Trukks to stagger your assault. They aren't fast, so I think the shooty option is the best. Regardless, they look like a fun option to mix things up.

Active armies, still collecting and painting First and greatest love - Orks, Orks, and more Orks largest pile of shame, so many tanks unassembled most complete and painted beautiful models, couldn't resist the swarm will consume all
Armies in disrepair: nothing new since 5th edition oh how I want to revive, but mostly old fantasy demons and some glorious Soul Grinders in need of love

For Orks they can be pretty good. Give them a KFF mek to carry and they will deliver their cargo more often than not. High T and relatively long range for small arms fire means that even if the squiggoth dies, it's usually done its job by that time (and it can't explode or get immobilized!)

More importantly, which vintage 80s dino-rider figure are you going to buy on ebay to make your squiggoth?

LOL, as it turns out, I do have a homemade Squiggoth that I made from a dinosaur toy combined with a Trukk and the cannon from a Battlewagon. But, the only time I played with it, it died horribly. However, these rules make it very tempting to try it out again. I may have to check into getting the Imperial Amour Apocalypse book, assuming that is where this datasheet came from.
