Hey there guys, was just casually thumbing my way through my GK Codex and re-read the entry for Personal Teleporters that the Interceptors use. The rule states that the unit changes its type to Jump Infantry, now, does this mean that they get the 12" movement associated with assault marines and the like, as well as the shunt move?

I don't have a copy of the new rulebook to double-check the rules for Jump Infantry, but what say you?

Sorry if this is a silly question, I've never fielded interceptors before, but if they get 12" plus the shunt, my FLGS will end up with my money (again).

Yes. That is exactly what happens. Same for the NDK as well.

Damnnit! I was kinda hoping I was being overly-optimistic!

Looks like my paycheck isn't safe again this month....

I guess the pertinent question now is; are they any good?

Interceptors or KDKs?

In the case of the former, yeah I think so. I've only run in them in a few games due to my fondness for always adding more terminators to any list, but there are some good strategies using interceptors and teleporter homers. Just be sure to keep them on the cheap side as they are just as durable as regular PGK, but more expensive. Think of them as slightly more useful assault marines.

KDKs are probably the best unit in the codex. Give them a PT and they become a must take in every list. Depending on your level of competitiveness you might not want to run too many of them. People tend to lump them in with Riptides and Wraithknights.

Interceptors are really the only PA unit worth taking. Purifiers get a lot praise because of Cleansing Flames, yet without transport they are pretty useless beyond being Warp Charge batteries. With Interceptors, they not only are their own transport, they can Shunt. I use them as mini DKs.

Well if you run NSF you have to take at least one strike squad or terminators to fulfill the troop requirement. I am finding Interceptors to be a competitive choice for GK along with Purifiers.

I always take at least one unit. Used them today against skitarii, the incinerator after the shunt paid for the unit in one blast.

The only Power Armor I take. Two squads with incinerators in every list I play to run around grabbing objectives and burninating the unclean.

A squad of 5 with an Incinerator is fairly useful.

They're not super efficient for their points, but they're very mobile - great for capturing objectives. Only the KDK is similarly mobile, and he is generally preoccupied smashing faces.

My mate uses them all the time most irritating unit ever just pew pew all over the board flaming my daemons to pieces.
