Update -
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2139148164/going-native-new-world-monsters/posts/1401243

To those of you who wanted in on the Going Native: New World Monsters and missed your chance. Here is your shot to get in and get some great models at a lowest cost before the price goes up. please check out the update 43 on the GN: New World Monster Kickstarter Page.

This is a fantastic update. I have finished the pledge manager catalog and I am ready start taking orders. I also wanted to say that you can buy additional models to go with your original order via a PayPal buy in.

I also wanted to tell you about an additional piece of great news, we are going to open up this catalog new customers. These new orders will also have to be made by PayPal. Sorry if this is a problem, but I have found this is the best way to handle new orders.

Since I have models in hand and I am going to need get the final orders, old and new, in by December 5th so that give my final order to the caster. So please go over your order and get to me as soon as you can. Also please get the word out to your gaming groups, people you know, and to the Internets to see if anyone else missed this Kickstarter Campaign the first time around and would like to join in.

Which models will be cast in metal, and which will be cast in resin?

Cost and quality is an issue here. 90% of the models will be metal. I am looking at the piasa, ogopogo, and a couple of other models to be cast is resin. Please as a very small copmany i have go with the most cost effective rout in order to maintain the quality i want to put out thier. On smaller models it is way more cost effective to cast in metal then resin. When it comes to the larger models it is a bit of a wash, unless you are expecting a small print run then resin is best. I know this does not anwer your question but at least you know where i an coming from.

I definitely get where you are coming from - no criticism is implied by my question. However, as a customer I need to know up front what I'm paying for, even if I'm ok with both materials. Metal can be sturdier, but resin is easier to modify, so which I'd prefer is different for different cases. Hybrid resin / metal figures can be very problematic in terms of holding together, depending on how the model is created. I'm actually very interested in getting the piasa bird, but a resin body with metal wings would be a deal killer for me, because I wouldn't trust the wings not to break off.

I think you're better off being upfront about materials so people know what they're getting. I don't think you'll be criticized for your material choice, but you will get angry feedback if people buy a figure expecting one material and then get it delivered in another.

As far as I go, can I count on the piasa bird being 100% resin (no metal parts?) If so, I'll sign on for one.

There aren't going to be any mixed kits as of now. The models will either be all metal or all resin. The piasa will likely be all resin.

It was $15 for me in the UK,

and one of the folks on the KS thread over on the Reaper boards who I think was in the US mentioned $5

so hopefully that gives you an idea

@Paymaster,

Piasa Bird
Wendigo
Uktena, the Great Horned Serpent
Ogopogo, The American Lake Monster
Xiuhcoatl, The Fire Serpent
Flying Head
Many others are great. I tend to make purchases I can use in other games and genres. I primarily play Weird War II and Fantasy wargames and RPG. I will be getting into Frostgrave and will probably get the Piasa bird as a male Harpy or dire harpy . Money is tight due to the holidays and if I played Weird West I definitely would be getting more of your miniatures and the rules as I would get more use in that manner.

I would probably go with 2 Piasa if there was a way to pose them differently .

You have excellent taste, I'd agree that all three of those are stunners. For some reason the serpents / serpentine monsters came out exceptionally well on this kickstarter. The Uktena serpent is also excellent.

I'll probably end up going Piasa Bird / Xiuhcoatl myself. The Piasa Bird was hand sculpted? Even more remarkable, if so. The resemblance to the concept art is absolutely uncanny!

Went with: Ogopogo, Uktena and ... Capelobo Because every time I went to order Xiuhcoatl instead, I'd hear RiTides voice telling me to stay true to the Capey Pretty sure the furry dude is going to be my Generic 30mm Base Proxy for Malifaux

@Paymaster - I didn't see a line in the instructions about adding in shipping, will you be sending out invoices after gathering orders together?

Love the Piasa Bird, gonna have to pick him up.

You should set up an online store There's lots of easy to use systems out there like Shopify, or Woocommerce. It'll make it easy for folks to order and calculate shipping and all that stuff in the future. Shopify also has a smartphone card swiper thingy too so you could sell at conventions but it will still keep track of your stock levels and all that stuff.

All of my models are sculpted by hand. You just can't seem to get the detail in 28mm scale if you do not hand sculpt.

We are more then half way to the 12/5 deadline. I wanted to remind (or inform as the case may be) the models in this Kickstarter are at a 25% discount and prices will change when the KS starts to deliver.

Thanks to every one.

Has anybody added an order after the Ks during the 12/5 deadline and received their stuff? I ordered the Piasa bird and am waiting for a confirmation or tracking number.

I don't think anything will have been sent out to anybody yet KS or late backers as Going Native was only due to give the order to the caster on 5th Decemeber

I'd imagine turn around would be a couple of months at best so I'd be hoping to start hearing something towards the end of Feb

Does this game have any sort of retail presence or can the models only be obtained when the company runs Kickstarters?

I think they had an online store for a bit after the last KS (to sell excess stock?), but don't at the moment

(this post from they made in the reaper forum probably explains why

D[ue] to a problem with the company I was working with at the time the first KS campaign I was unable to put out any of the models. One of my goals with the second KS was to buy back my molds and stock. We fell short. I am hoping to get my products back under my control this year and get them market ready as soon as I can. Packaging takes time and money, but it will happen.

The models in this upcoming KS belong to me and so do the molds. So this one will be different and should be market ready as quickly as I can.
)

Hopefully this will change when the stock from this KS comes in (you could get at least some of the KS1 models on the post KS late backers form which suggests he's got them back under his control now), and he will be able to keep it going this time which from the update below should be in the next few months

New update... all out to casting

Happy New Year

Hello everyone,

due to a very busy work schedule at my day job I have not been able to post any real news until now. I have all of the models in hand and all of the models were then boxed up and sent off to the caster as of today. so we are in the final stretch and the end is in site.

I also know what models will be metal and what models will be resin. I have had huge reservations about using resin because of quality concerns, but my wife convinced me that we should do some resin models. the fallowing models will be cast in resin, models not listed will be cast in white metal -

Capelobo

Xuicoatl, the Fire Serpent

Basket Woman (Not the fleeing child)

Crystal Skull Engine

Pua Tu Tahi the monstrous clam

Wendigo

Tamangori

Mishubizhiw the underwater panther

Piasa Bird

Ai Apeac the Decapitator

the Great Thunder Bird

Ogopogo, the American Lake monster

Here are the size chart photos to give you some idea how big models that i got from Poland. Now when you look at the picture, many of the model have already been dissembled for safer transit. I unfortunately do not have any stic tact to put them back together for the photos, so i did the best i could do. Sorry if it does not do the model justice.

[you'll have to go to KS for the photos, for some reason I can't copy any of them over to here]

I got in on their first KS project.

As for service, quality, and communication- Paymaster was top notch. The intellectual quality of the project is one hundred percent top notch. They absolutely have their stuff together for the sculpts, as well.

I have metals from them, and the first project's rulebook gave you a great batch of material for the figures to use for the tribes.

100% accuracy was one of the hallmarks for them from the creator.

Is there a site where you can get the human models from the earlier kickstarter?

not yet.

I had a store some time ago, but since it would not allow me to process international orders I had to drop it. I do not have the skills or time to build my own site and I cannot afford to hire some one to build the site. I will set up a e-bay store after I have the models in hand. If you want some human model from the last campaign they are available from the catalog above or you can wait until I have e-bay store up.

I hope that helps.

If you're looking for an online store, check out BigCommerce.com or Shopify.com. Both of them will run you about $30 a month but they're fully hosted and easy to set up and use, you can set up a free Stripe account to take credit cards or just use Paypal for payments.

If you want cheaper, you can set up a basic webhosting account with any old ISP and install Wordpress on it, and then get the Woocommerce plugin.. that software is all free, but Woocommerce charges for every little extra feature you want to add, like it's $70 just to be able to add USPS shipping prices for people when they order, the plugins are all kind of pricey.. but that's the cheapest option for a basic online store

I use BigCommerce, but I like Shopify better. The store templates are more modern. I don't want to change because it will be a lot of work redoing the store from scratch. But yes, either of them will be able to take international orders if you link up a regular old paypal account. You can also set up Stripe for domestic credit card orders, but I think Paypal is better anyway since you can print shipping labels from paypal and also get a discount. comes in real handy.

I have started the planning phase for the warrior model kickstarter that I am hoping to launch soon, with a fair amount of luck. I have reached a bit of a problem, that is I want to provide a special model with that campaign, but in a warrior based campaign how can you just throw something odd/cool in when 99% of the models are In fact human?

A few of the idea that my wife and I had was -

A Native American/ Polynesian god - while I am open to all gods but the White Buffalo Woman kept coming up.

another Spider god/spirit - the Navaho Spider Woman, the Polynesian Spider god that Created the world

The Sasquatch hero, Tsul'Kalu, the Great Lord of the Game

A random Native American / Polynesian hero riding some kind monster or spirit like a Inuit riding a giant Penguin for example

A large Spirit Beast

Some Terrain like Walls, small buildings (huts, teepees, igloos so on) Statues like Easter island heads, Olmec head so on

What are your thoughts?

How about a golem kind of thing like your crystal skull engine but bigger, and with an Easter island style head?

Oh and teepees might be cool too.. There's like no good teepee models out there in 28/30mm at all.
