Just finished Arhiman Unchanged. I'm a long standing fan of the thousand sons and their work, however, I really don't know the direction they're headed.

*SPOILERS*

Now that the second rubric is complete, Magnus is now whole again? You could see the conflict Magnus has when we were introduced to the different fragments of him. He is complete again, so now is he still the same brand of prideful, vengeful, angsty evil?

Is the second rubric even important? Where are we headed now?

I liked what they did with the Salamanders and Vulcan thus far, but not sure where they're taking our beautiful 1k sons and Magnus.

Also any thoughts on the book, speculation, criticisms etc are welcome!

Magnus the Red is now functional again - but then we didn't know that he wasn't prior to these books.

The second rubric is massively important, but on a personal level - Ahriman has managed to save one (and only one) of the rubricae. But the fact that he's done that proves that it can be done and theoretically everything he's done wrong can be undone if he figure out how to do it.

Next stop -reference section of the black library...

I love the series. It's an epic trilogy of Tzeenchian mind-feckery, with things like Astreos being retroactively responsible for the Inquisitorial purge of his chapter (because doing things in chronological order is for the weak)....

Wait so are Magnus and Ahriman bros again?

Finally found my quote from a gym buddy born and raised in South Korea:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Here's the fun part of the whole trilogy. You have no idea when it's actually taking place. There's so much manipulation of time that part of the story may be be M32 and another M38. It really makes me appreciate the importance of the Imperium's calendar.

Definitely not. Although we get to see their views of each other are very complicated.

Spoiler:
Magnus use Ahriman's second rubric to rebuild himself by deceiving Ahriman. Ahriman flees before Magnus can finish him off.

So does this explain why

As someone who hasn't read the HH books, I must ask: How loyal is Magnus to Tzeentch? He was tricked into doing the Manipulator's bidding with regards to the Webway, of that much I'm sure, and the Fenris attack was more settling a personal score than exerting the will of Chaos, but I was under the understanding that he was duped into selling his soul to Tzeentch, effectively binding himself to servitude. Is this the case? Or has Black Library painted it as a more willing arrangement?

When the only tool you have is a Skyhammer, every army begins to resemble a nail.

Going by the HH books, Magnus hates Tzeentch and doesn't take "orders" from him. However Magnus' own schemes are just part of Tzeentch's schemes, and Magnus is fatalistic and realizes he'll never outsmart him. So he just goes along with Tzeentch's plans.

2,000pts
