What's the rule on mixing Chapter's together in one list?

I want to use the 10th company formation with Sentinels of Terra and then a CAD with Raven Guard rules. Maybe throw in an Assassin for fun.

Quite simple: They cannot be in the same Detachment. If you have an IC with one Trait and they join a unit with another Trait, both Traits go offline for the duration of the joining.

So, if you have the 10th Company Formation with Imperial Fists/Sentinels of Terra Trait, they can be taken in the same army as a CAD using the Raven Guard Trait, but they wouldn't be in a Gladius Strike Force Detachment using the Raven Guard Trait.

You choose a Chapter Tactic for each detachment, and each detachment can use a different CT.

As noted by Charistoph, the Gladius is an exception, and all detachments within it must use the same CT.

Also note that even if your primary detachment is Faction: Space Marines, you may take an allied detachment of Faction: Space Marines as long as they have different Chapter Tactics.

There is also some tricky rule about multiple chapter tactics in the same unit as a result of IC's etc
