Does rules for them exist? Or even a suggested proxy list? I would love to try and rope in someone in my gaming group to give KoW a try, especially since I got the rule book from the Kickstarter. I don't have a KoW army though, and it would be cool to use my AoS force for another game.

Someone posted a fan list for them in the Kings of War Fanatics FB group earlier this week.

Also, their scale, and ironically the points allow the Sigmar half of the starter to almost be a chunky, legal, Ogre with KoM allied army.

3 winged guys = Regiment of Elohi
guy on gryphon = KoM Paladin Hero on Gryphon

Everyone else on 40mm bases as Ogre Siegebreaker, Warriors, or whatever you like.

You even get a stand-in Ogre Banner guy from the Relictor(?).

I've definitely found homes for all my Stormcast in my KoW armies. And my wife wove the Chaos half of the starter into her Abyssal Dwarves with a minimum of mucking around.

Edit: Actually, an Age of Sigmar set, plus a Mantic Ogre Army starter could probably get you a 2000pt list very easily.

Wouldn't Ogre rules be the opposite of Stormcast fluff-wise though? Stormcast are supposed to be super disciplined ubermensch. I don't want any actual ogres, especially not Mantic ones, but I have about 60 Stormcast so I don't think I would need any

I think the Ogre/Basileans army is a perfect idea for Stormcast.

If KoW was played in my area, it would be the exact army I would build.

Ogre's are highly skilled mercenaries in KoW, so not really the opposite of Stormcast.

Well that's cool then! I'll take a look at the list in the rule book.

9 Liberators as 3 regiments of Shield Breakers
3 Retributors as 1 regiment of Warriors with 2H weapons
Lord Celestant as Warlord on Chariot with Inspiring Talisman
extra Liberator as Captain
Lord Relictor as Army Standard
3 Prosecturs as allied-in Elohi regiment

1235 points for the Stormcast half of an AOS starter. Get another two sets of 3 Retributors off of eBay or wherever and you've got a 1495 point army.

Why would you put an Inspiring Talisman on a warlord when he is already inspiring?

Because I had a brain fart. Whoops. Just change that to a Chant of Hate or something.

Thanks a lot Waspinator!!!

I have a lot more than that though. I have

2 Lord Celestant on Dracoth
3 Lord Relictor
1 Heraldor
1 Castellant
1 Gryph Hound
22 Liberators
6 Prosecutors
10 Judicators
9 Retributors
5 Decimators
5 Protectors

What would you suggest for Judicators, Protectors, Decimators, Heraldor, Castellant and Gryph Hound?

Judicators very naturally make for Ogre Shooters

Decimators could also be 2H warriors... alternatively, you could go for Ogre Braves (Berserker type units), but I think all of the paladins work better as 2h warriors. Some of the "long" weapon guys (protectors maybe?) could be Hunters.

And for heroes, you can just pick any of the hero characters in the list.

Yeah, Judicators could be used as either Shooters or Boomers. Maybe split them based on weapon loadout?

I would probably also go with Decimators as Braves and Protectors as Hunters.

For the Heraldor, I would probably either use him as another Army Standard or stick him into the back of a horde of something. You could even use that as a reminder that that unit has a magic item or something.

The Castellant could be Grokagamok.

I'm having trouble coming up with a good idea for the Gryph Hound. Like the Heraldor, I would probably put him into a horde of something and give them a magic item to reflect that they're special.

You're going to have no problem making a full KoW list... so now that the "is it possible" question is out of the way...

1. Welcome to the Sigmarine Ogre Army club for cool kids. :-) I only use 'em as Siege Breakers as their are no official models yet, but they so look the part.

2. I would say that you might want to look towards Ogre Shooters with those Judicators. Right now, IMO, Siege Breakers, and Hordes of Ogre Shooters are some of the meanest units in the entire game. I love my Boomers, but of the two I think Shooters might impress a hair more.

On the similar subject of "what to do with the Chaos stuff from the starter?", my vote is Forces of the Abyss. Fits well thematically, has options for both normal and large infantry, and has some cool big monster options like the Chroneas.

My wife used them to fill out her Abyssal Dwarves (which we only had maybe 1200pts of in official Mantic models). I believe she runs the 20-strong unit in the starter as a regiment of Berserkers, and I know she multi-based the bigger warrior guys as a regiment of Grotesques. The big gribbly became a Greater Obsidian Golem, and I think the Commander with his little Hellhound buddy became Bas'Susu the Vile (to run alongside her Mantic Gargoyles).

That sounds like it would definitely work. They could probably also fit into Twilight Kin or Varangur.

Well, Varangur are an absolute given. If I ever want something Chaos-Human-y, that would certainly be the right home for it.

One nice thing about KOW's model policy is that you really don't have to permanently decide what a figure represents. You can experiment with those options freely.
