All vehicles and buildings have the generalized rules of los/weapons placement/access points and fire points as "per model".

The baneblade chassis has 3 basic mounting points for the sponsons and it does not matter where you place the sponsons(the base 2 could already be on the same side if you wanted)

The rules only give you what weapons you have, not where they should go. My shadowsword chassis has the firing deck since it can be any of those variants other than a stormlord(couldn't get the megabolters to magnetize right and decided forget it); so all my main cannons are about 3" forward of where they "should be" on all but the doomhammer.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

I mean, you don't ever have to draw line of sight down the barrel... just from the barrel.

Point the rear sponson perpendicular to the hull. It will stick out further than the front sponson. Draw LOS as if the las beam does a 90 degree turn as soon as it leaves the barrel. Problem solved?

From 'Vehicle Weapons & Line of Sight':

When firing a vehicle's weapons, point them at the target and then trace line of sight from each weapons' mounting and along its barrel to see if the shot is blocked by intervening terrain or models.
