Aside from the numerous reasons this wouldn't work (nobody would let him charge those models/he easily dies to garbage shooting/he's really slow/he'd die to Stomp anyway), I think the biggest thing you've missed is that the Paradox of Duality does not work in close combat.

So it's less "crazy" and more "the easiest free VP you've ever earned for your opponent."

Just put aun'va in a large unit on a void shield generator. To penetrate the shields you'd need an AT weapon. Most AT weapons are high ap. Paradox negates good AP weapons that get through. Boom.

Aside from the numerous reasons this wouldn't work (there's plenty of bad-AP weapons that crack Void Shields/people would just target a different unit/people would just target the shield building itself), I think the biggest thing you've missed is that Aun'va is not an Independent Character.

This is officially a thread for clarifying how Aun'va and the Paradox of Duality works.

(hint: poorly, or we'd see a lot of it, instead of none of it)

Aun'Va isn't competitive.

He is brutal with ovesa though. The pair is nigh unkillable.

1: Until contradictory rules come out, yes. May only be two weeks, but it's compatible.

Last question, it was said above that AunVa's rule doesnt work in assault. Is that because it says "like a cover save," or something to that effect?

And Yes, stomps would be problematic.

No offense intended, but you should honestly have the rules on hand before asking for clarifications--people go into YMDC fishing for rules every now and then, and it's highly frowned upon, because it can technically get dakka in trouble if it looks like people can just come onto the forums and ask for the content of published rules.

If you read the Paradox of Duality, you'll see that it very clearly does not work in Assault.
