Sense I saw the Betrayal of Calth go up for pre-orders I put my in at my FLGS, things came up and I wasn't able to get it until now. Sense I pre-ordered I was debating what to do with them and I'm still not sure so curious what others did with theirs. I'm undecided on painting them as Imperial Fists or as my custom chapter (the Ghul Maraz) which is direct founding from the Fists. Obviously a choice needs to be made before I start painting so I have some time, but once I start painting there is no going back! So give me a hand here peoples!

If you can paint yellow then go for the Fists. Dorn will eventually be released and then that would be perfect for HH. I have a love/hate for yellow, takes me so damn long to paint them smoothly.

Ditto your sentiment on yellow, I've never had much success with painting it either. Are GWs newer paint line easier to work with? I know they are supposed to have a stronger pigment count or some such. Luckily, the Ghul Maraz chapters primary color is gold, so I could go with that and then if/when I play a 30k game with them I can just say they are a special segment of the fists or some such!

Ghul Maraz? Sounds vaguely dwarvish from WFB.

I know right, so weird!

The name is in their founding history. Shortly after their founding they defied Imperial order and rushed to aid a besieged world. Only 416 of the new Marines were at enough of a level to fight, they were under armed and only had less then 300 suits of power armor available. Still they arrived on the planet and working with the Sisters of Battle Order and the planets minimal PDF, they were able to push the Orks away, the first Chapter Master slaying the Ork Warmaster in single combat. The Mother Superious, a low ranking Inquisitor (who was watching the world and abandoned when no help was requested), and the Chapter Master of the Imperial Fists all stood by the new Chapter when the Lords of Terra were ready to abolish them for breaking Imperial order. Due to how they arrived and engaged and never leaving the battle, the Mother Superious referred to the Chapter as striking like the Emperor's Hammer. And so, the original Chapter was renamed as the Ghul Maraz, the Emperor's Hammer, their original name being lost in time.

Oh wait, I think it was the name of Sigmar's warhammer (a rune weapon gifted to him by the Dwarves) from Warhammer Fantasy). Makes sense now.

Well, yellow? I don't know. I wouldn't paint my Marines yellow.
