Hats off to the sculptors/designers though, they managed to turn my pathetically low expectations into an urge to impulse buy immediately. Thats a job well done.

Oh right, even better

GW have really upped the ante since Execution Force. From 4 new models in the box to 50. If they keep releasing new board games that are worth buying I'll keep buying them.

I'm not sure what would get me as excited as this release though. Like many people I'd like to see more support for Sisters of Battle, though I'd rather see a full release than a board game.

The board has me worried. If it's a board ala Assassination Force (or whatever that game was called) I will not be happy.

That's why it always annoys me when a certain few at this place accuse me (and others) of always being down on GW. I have always had, and made no secret of the fact that that I have a strong 'credit where credit's due' policy. Sigmarines? Dwyrf Fyrslyrs? Utter garbage.

These though? Holy crap they're amazing.

If they did insist on testing the waters with a boardgame though, they have a solid subject for one; Sanctuary 101, Sisters v Necrons, and you could do a fair number of sisters models if you had a small group of bigger Necrons as the enemy.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Yeah a bunch of Immortals lead by a Cryptek with a praetorian or two would make a better "investigatory raid" force than basic warriors and a lord. Not sure what to do with the old jetbike dude though.

People have bad math skills.
There are 50 models (one of which is a bike) plus a homer beacon and servo skull.

11 deathwatch (not including homer beacon or servo skull)
And 39 cult members
Patriarch
magus
Primarch
2 familiar
2 pure strains
2 laser cutters
4 abhorrent (2 hammer/2picks)
6 first gen
6 second gen
6 third gen
8 fourth gen

Also can't wait to see rules for that patriarch in 40k. Dear I say genestealers are going to be good again especially when they can have psychic shenanigans too.

The only thing I really want is the termie in multiples, and first gen hybrids, that devastator maybe, the iron hand, the sternguard, also clasic stealers ofc, not that I have 20 already and 120+ in total lol. Oh and also all the fething rest of the models. I don't like all of the marines but have enough bits to improve them.

It's much too expensive for a boxed game and I'm broke but feth it. Hope that the game itself is good, the models deserve it.

GW is on fire in 40k, much more hit than miss lately. Now just bring back whfb with same aproach, fix 40k rules, drop prices and it's all ok.

But really, good job GW. Deep, deep down we all love you.

From the initial Age of Sigmar news thread, when its "feature" list was first confirmed:

So now all the shiny models are unveiled, any sight of how the game itself will work? Obviously there's less sneaking about involved than Execution Force, and much more in the way of killing things.

This makes you realize how much GW is ( or at least was, since it seems to have changed with the re-introduction of specialist games) not using its IP to its full potential. This set is creating so much excitement and it will probably make me start a full tyranid army. As some have said, a necromunda or a Sanctuary 101 boxset of the same quality would be huge succes

Wow, talk about a breath of fresh air after re-released but comicbook-ed up Wolfen and all the AoS Dwyrf Fyrslyr weirdness (I admit I love the Sigmarines visually as giant paladins, just not their fluff)

Seriously. I was going to play some games of In the Emperor's Name a couple months ago (indie skirmish ruleset, gives the feel of Inq28- type games), and my first "have fun playing a bad guy" warband was to dig out the following from my shelves for a Cult warband:

-My old Delaque gang

-A Necromunda Wyrd Telepath for a counts-as Magus (I have one of the original Magus models plus a familiar, but he has to have a horrible paintjob by 13-year old me stripped off, and the Telepath is painted and ready and even looks the sinister veiny-head, giant staff part)

-Two plastic hybrids from my Tyranid Attack boardgame, plus a couple of Purestrains from the same game.

-Some very shifty thoughts towards the old walking Patriarch sitting deep in my bitz-box, versus the Broodlord from Space Hulk 3rd ed.

I really may have to work on the wife to get this!

Only because they're doing it well (see the repsonse to the Wulfen models).

I know what you mean about wanting to start a new Nids army, I've been thinking of doing a vanguard force style Nid army for a while but the rubbish codex they have put me off, but these new models and the hope of a new codex, or 2 if GC get a mini-dex, have instantly built my excitment for the project back up.

Now all I need is plastic Lictors.

With the rumors of Necromunda coming back, the whole Inq28 community seems to be freaking out. I know I'll be looking for second hand and bit sells to buy a gak ton of the Forth Generation cultists for my own personal love of their look. I can't even imagine what the new Necromunda Sculpts could look like, especially if they keep a similar level of detail.

Gak me, I'm so glad I'm working overtime these next few weeks so I can reason with myself that buying these guys is a good idea...

I would be wary of getting this to start a new tyranid army,

as assuming the release of multipose separates happens along with some sort of codexette I would not be surprised to see the stealers fall out of the tyranid codex

not an issue if you're happy to play with allies and mixed formations, but if you want to be one book and done not so much
