Hey there guys, my first attempt at 30k and my first post here!

So with Betrayal at Calth I decided to give 30k a try and I'd love some feedback on this list;

HQ:

Legion Centurion
Consul: Master of Signal.

Legion Praetor
Artificer Armour, Warsmith, Paragon blade, Master of the Legion: Pride of the Legion, Combat Shield, Digital Lasers

Troops:

Legion Tactical Squad
20 man, Artificer Armour, Melta Bombs

Tyrant Siege Terminators
5 man, 3x Chain fists

Heavy Support:

Iron Havocs
10 man, 10x Missile Launchers, Artificer Armour

Legion Artillery Tank Squadron
3x Medusa with Shrapnel Bolts

Legion Predator Strike Armoured Squadron
3x Predator, 3x Executioner Plasma Cannon, 3x pintle mounted twin linked bolter.

2000 points om the dot.

What should/could I change to improve it?

Seriously though 37 bodies is pretty small in 30k, do you really need 3 medusas and 3 executioners ;-) I would pick one or the other

Ok, so is there a number I should try to aim for?

Drop the executioners and go for another 20 man blob or 10 in a rhino?

I like the 'dusas as they give me something to pop Spartans.

I would say a big blob but put apothecaries in then for some of that iron warrior toughness

So after play testing it without the executioners I'm not convinced. The 20man units just don't do anything. Bolters are just not good enough without any special rules for them. And they are way too slow to take objectives.

I'll give them another try but so far I'm leaning towards putting the preds back in to just overwhelm my opponents with firepower.

I would say skip the medusas and keep the preds. Big Havok squad.

You need either another squad of marines, or throw some vets in a rhino with heavy bolters of heavy flamers and give them sniper. You need something to run to objectives with.

Remember your Tac squads get fury of the legion. Do not discount 80 bolter shots. I have evaporated terminator squads like it was nothing with these squads. Make sure you add an apothecary with an augery scanner thing, DSing next to that squad is bad for most units.

On the cheap, you can go two support squads with basic flamers in rhinos for clearing and taking objectives. 135 points base and are the cheapest useful squad in the entire list. I have completely erased deathwing terminators and full scat bike squads with an attached farseer with them.

This, oh so much this! In 30k it's not so much about denying the other side's armour saves, it's to inflict enough wounds that sooner or later those fancy armour saves will fail. Fury of the Legion in particular is made just for this.

I don't think that pride of the legion lets you take Tyrants as a troops choice - the rite specifically refers to 'Legion Terminator Squads'.

There was an FAQ about it. All legion specific elite terminators are counted.

Your list is illegal, PotL requires vets and termies be the compulsory troops. You will need either another unit of tyrants, legion termies, or vets.
