What do people think regarding the current 75 min rounds for competition play ?
Personally I'd rather see it revert to 60 mins especially now with the half points rule for big ships
Just curious to hear peoples veiws

It's a good change.
It cuts down on games going to time, which is annoying. Even with the points change, points fortresses that are designed to survive 60 minutes still do that (like Fat Han).

This is true, but the new tourney rules have essentially neutered that, right? Do half damage to Han, and you get half points. No more flying around waiting for time to run out.

Scoring half points for Han and then having him fly around the rest of the game can still mean you'll lose the game. No one flying Fat Han will think, "Hmm, they've already scored half the points he's worth, I might as well let him finish the job." Anyone would rather win flat out against Fat Han by destroying the entire list than to only score half points and still lose, correct? That extra 15 minutes gives you more time to outlast Han and all of his bull gak.

Oh, I don't disagree. I was just saying that it helps that you at least score half points.
Either way, I'm happy they extended the time, personally.

As a TO... I would never go back to 60 minutes. It was not uncommon to see half of my tables go to time, which is way too high. It also gives me more work to do, as I have to wait until time is called before I can collect the half the results. With 75 minute rounds, only a few tables go to time (maybe half or a third as many as 60 minute rounds).
I'm sure FFG designed the game with 60 minute rounds in mind. In practice, there's a fat tail to the distribution, and a lot of games will blow past that before a decisive result is achieved.

In my area, we have found that we just don't need the extra time. It also allows us to start the next round just that much quicker because people tend not to wander off. We typically cut 10 minutes off of each round.

Do we have any data on what percentage of tables went to time at Worlds 2015? Is that something that could be pulled out of List Juggler?

I would rather go back to 60 minute rounds. I have never in a year and a half have a tournament game go to 60 minutes. Maybe I just don't play a list, or my opponents don't play lists that go that long. However, in a year and a half, with about a tournament every month, it should have happened.
