While looking through the Harlequin codex I casually took note of the fact Shadowseers can garner powers from Phantasmancy, Telepathy and Daemonology: Sanctic. Nothing earth-shattering here as anyone with a book can look at this for themselves. As with any other non-Grey Knight Psyker, I figured the Shadowseer suffers the same Daemonology doubles penalty. To confirm I reread the core rules regarding this:
The Rules, p.28 wrote:SANCTIC POWERS
Psykers from Codex: Grey Knights can manifest Sanctic powers as they would any other psychic power, but they cannot genrate Malefic powers at all. All other Psykers that attempt to manifest Sanctic powers suffer Perils of the Warp on a Psychic test that includes any double, whether the Psychic test was successful or not.

What drew my attention was the statement that Grey Knights cannot cast Malefic powers at all. Neither can the Shadowseer.

The Rules were written well before the Harlequins codex came out. Has anyone seen whether Harlequins have been granted the same exemption for casting Sanctic as Grey Knights have by virtue of their inability to cast Malefic powers?

Eldar Farseers and Spiritseers also only have access to Sanctic and not Malefic, but none of them get immunity to the extra dangers. It's a risk/reward thing.

No FAQ's have been released for either Codex, and nothing is mentioned in the Rulebook FAQ.

I regularly roll my in action farseer on sanctic. With your helm you can avoid perils damage. Basically I am trying to peril and trying to roll 6 on the peril table XD It is a crazy tactic but it has worked out in my favor more than it has hurt me.
