Are there any units in 40k or 30k that have rules for a Two-Handed Thunderhammer? I'm trying to incorporate a unit of models carrying two-handed hammers into my army, but not sure I've ever seen a rule for this.

To my knowledge, all thunder hammers can be used one or two handed. Their rules are interchangable, so you could just use standard thunder hammers on the dudes.

Using a 'one handed' weapon doesn't mean the model has to use it one handed. It can hold the weapon with two hands and have the other weapon holstered, stowed or invisible.

Strangely, there isn't. Relic Blades are two-handed as well...

True, but it does stand to reason that a model that actually uses a large hammer with two hands has far better control over the weapon and there should be a different profile since two handed means you lose an attack if you have another melee weapon. Most models wield it in one hand, but it's the difference between swinging a sledgehammer with one hand vs using two hands.

Well, they are Specialist Weapons regardless, to illustrate the fact that getting extra attacks is hard.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Yeah, I'm looking for a rule that adds a little something to the standard Thinderhammer profile. Reason being is I already have thundrhammers, but am trying to incorporate models with bigger hammers that are two-handed.

So, Melee, Two-handed, Sx2, AP2, Concussive, Unwieldy, and something to weigh against the detriment of the 2-handed rule. Instant Death on a To Wound of 6? Armorbane? Just not too sure what to put in as the added bonus that would make sense for a big huge hammer.

No bonus. The current TH profile is 100% adequate.

You're quite right from a logical point of view -wielding a big heavy swinger in two hands should be advantageous to single-handed. Indeed it used to be the case in 2nd ed for power axes:
Two handed S6 -3 armour save modifier
One handed S5 -2 armour save modifier
The current rules for power weapons and other high profile cc weapons are very rock-paper-scissors and while this is good in its own way, unfortunately allowing a varying profile for hammers or axes would upset that balance.

I let the dogs out

Its adequate for you. I wouldn't be asking the question of I thought it were adequate for me.

Ref: unbalancing, yes I agree to a point, and this is just to have rules that somehow differentiate normal thunderhammers from the huge, two-handed one's I have on my models. They are seriously twice as big as a normal thunder hammer. In any case, this isn't for tournament play or anything. Just a Primarch's fluffy, ultra-elite command squad that won't get used without my opponents permission.

Instant Death on non-MCs would be perfectly good in my book. I wouldn't bat an eye if there was a tiny, like 5pt, increase and they got that option added on.

I though blanket ID would be too much...never considered ID only on non-MCs. I like it, and I'll let the idea marinate.

Maybe rolls of 6 to wound cause two wounds, instead of ID?
