The Astronomican, unbeknownst to the Imperium, is what is drawing the Tyranid Hive Fleets to threaten the Galaxy and all of the Imperium.

Because not much is known about the Tyranids. We as the omnipresent observers know they home in on the psychic presences of living creatures, they think the Astronomicon is a huge gathering of living creatures to eat.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Source? The Nids have already consumed the planet that contained the Pharos.

why would they, it's not like the Hive mind is talkative and the one Liberian who was able to briefly contact it found it so alien he nearly lost his mind.

Even if theydid know it, what could they do about it? The Astgronomican is the Imperium's strategic advantage over its enemies. Shutting it down is impossible, so they'll just need to deal with the Tyranid threat another way.

Exactly. Long-range strategic manoeuvrability is humanity's big advantage over the Tau, Orks and Tyranids - the ability to move manpower from across the galaxy and actually leverage the "Empire of a million worlds".

Without the Astronomican, you don't get troopships full of catachans and cadians and vostroyans turning up on the eastern fringe.

But, yeah. The Imperium has limited understanding of the Hive mind and how it works.

How could they even know about it? It's not like it's terribly obvious.

Your assuming the imperium knows the locations of every hive fleet, every direction they are travelling in, and are willing and able to share that information up the chain of command to the people that can actually notice this.

Maybe they have noticed, but the scribe that has, has passed on the info and it's simply been stored away for later reading, sitting in a que that never ends.

Think about it from the imperious perspective. They know the kids are drawn to them, and there are probably people within the imperium that suspect it is the astronomical that is drawing them to it, but they also don't know what the hive mind is, or what it looks like? So how can they systematically prove that their enemy is drawn towards their psychic beacon if they don't actually know what their enemy is or looks like, let alone what it intends?

Maybe the HLOT do know... but there's nothing they can do about it. Turning off the Astronomican is not an option.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Starchild!

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

I'm actually assuming nothing of the sort, I'm assuming they don't know where all of it is or what directions they're travelling. Though it is possible somebody did notice and it's just trapped in bureaucratic hell.
