Sorry if this post has been done before. I was just wonder if anyone had a go to build that they use for competitive play? or maybe just a standard set of upgrades you cant see yourself playing without?.

"Travellin' through space is boring. Well, boring unless da hulk yer on is full of dem gene-sneakers, or a base fer da chaos lads wiv da spikes, or already has Boyz on it. Or if humie lootas come callin', that's always good fer a bit a sport. Or unless yer have a mutiny or two to pass da time, or unless strange fings start happenin', which dey usually do when yer out in da warp. One time we had some bloody great ugly fing come straight out of Weird Lugwort's 'ed! It butchered half da lads, that was pretty entertainin'. Come ter fink of it, space is a pretty good larf. And that's before yer find yerself a nice world ta crush!"

I can't say I have a go to build, I always plan a build around the event I'm attending. I think this is something few players locally do and probably the reason I have won such a high percentage to the OP's I've played in.

Saying that, there are some cards I find myself using more often than not.

Starter set Pichard and a set of cloaked mines have features in nearly every OP list I've ever used. A set of fighters is a common sight as well since they first came out.

Going forward it's hard to see me not using a bioship with pichard and biological technology as part of my builds.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

Yeah, i try to change it up a bit as well. i do find i do have a couple of go to's recently for example Riker on the delta flyer with the upgraded phasers. i also like to use Tar the ferengi captain that gives you battle stations on the Scimitar and i do use Ahab Picard quite a bit.

For a while my go to build was revolved around the Scimitar and Avatar of the Tomed. Lately I have been messing around with the Defiant and Equinox. Now that OPs are back to 90 points I have been kicking around the idea of running two assimilated D'Deridex classes, but it is still on the drawing board

I've only been playing for a few months now so i didn't get any of the assimilated ships unfortunately. i wish i had some though they do look pretty good.

If you can get your hands on them they are a lot of fun. I think someone over on boardgamegeek has put up scans of them so you could proxy them for home games, or OPs if your TO allows such things.

I really like the assimilated D'Deridex. To me the extra shield and attack make it feel more like what we saw on screen. I am also looking at equipping them with the weapon upgrade from the Terix to get them up to 5 attacks Yeah that is 36 points, and a Reman Warbird is only 1 point more. But I love the D'deridex, it's one of my favorite ship classes .

The assimilated Galor also makes a nice platform for Gul Dukat

I agree the D'deridex is one of my favorite ships, I just love the movement dial that it has and i just picked up the most recent blind one this sat past.

Khazara with disruptor pulse and Donatra near by can be fun to surprise people with. "Oh look, I'm throwing 5 dice at everything in my forward arc"

Go to build... not really a build, but the cards I go for first these days are...

Fed Fighters (that extra shield over the Dom Fighters really makes them more durable)
Picard (starter set)
Shinzon and his Romulan Talents
Scimitar
Romulan Helmsmen
Cloaked Mines
MU Galaxy Class (I just love the ship)
Dorsal Phasers

Those are usually the cards I start with; after that, I pair them down or build around them depending on what I want to play with. Lately, I've been playing with the Delta Flyer. I never thought I could have so much fun with such a little ship! Makes me kinda want to get the Bajoran Interceptor (the regular one and the blind) and maybe try an all small fleet...

For me, my go to list type is swarm: I cram as many ships with as many red and green dice as possible onto the board.

I have been using this one for about a year, and I have remained fairly undefeated with it:

USS Enterprise-D
-Captain Rudolph Ransom

Constitution-Class or Constellation-Class
-Generic Captain

x2 Fed Fighters

Of late, I have been toying with the idea of using the Reliant as a cheesy dreadnought, typically like so:

USS Reliant (20)
-Starter Picard (6)
-Belona Torres (4)
-System Upgrade (2)
-Unimatrix Shielding (5)
-Immersion Shielding (3)
-Tactical Stations (4)
-Upgraded Phaser array (3)
-Type 8 Phasers (2)
Total: 49 Points

Its expensive, but it turns into a ship throwing 7 attack dice at range 1, agility 2, hull 3, and 7 shields, 180 degree firing arc, and the ability to perform two actions a round. It basically becomes a federation Scimitar, minus the cloak.

I haven't been taking the latest round of OPs very seriously so I have been experimenting with some different things. The OPs are fun, but sometimes it is more fun to go with something off the wall instead of something cut throat. Khan on the Hood with Disruptor Beams was hilarious

I picked up the Bajoran Interceptor and it is a really fun ship, i find people dont realize the masssive firepower it can pump out. and yeah the delta is great

The last one I played in, I Ran a Reliant Defiant build. I used the Hathaway Riker on the defiant, but it ended up being a poor choice as the people at the OP had a lot of 3 hull ships...

I tried this once at an op. it was really fun but once i got it off once it was really hard every game afterwards to get multiple ships in my arc because they seen the damage it could do lol
