So I finished reading Slayer two nights ago after re-reading the whole G&F series and I have to say I'm very... disappointed... in how it wrapped up but that is another thread.
I'm hoping someone here who has also read it maybe can explain to me what exactly happened with Felix during his trial. It wasn't an illusion, but people were alive that shouldn't be alive and, imo a heartless dick move on the part of the author, he sees his daughter for the first and only time during this non-hallucination?
The entire thing stunk of really shoddy writing to me, but am I missing something?

Perhaps the author was put off by End Times coming to destroy the setting he is writing in and suddenly ending his series.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

He was just meeting and some of the influential people from his life. I can't remember the exact reason for the trial, but I think it was something to do with letting go of the past.

Doubtful. G&F wasn't really a continual series anymore after William King and Nathan Long.

I agree. I personally thought the quality dropped a lot after they ended there.
