Well some mild conversion done to the contemptor using a chaos marine head and a few extras from my bits box, I toyed with the idea of cutting the legs and torso to alter the pose but with the extras I've used thought I may be over complicating it, the captain in cataphractii armour has lost his chain fist in place of a power sword which I just prefered myself and finally was the nuncio vox upgrade using parts from my grey knights.(oh the irony! )...

There's something about an assembled and under coated army don't you think? .....

Whilst I was getting into the swing of things I changed the head of my nuncio vox marine to a mk4 job which I think looks better than what I went for before.....

The vox marine will be part of my 20 man tactical squad who will be kitted with all manner of knives and pouches as they foot slog it ahead taking and holding objectives.....

The vox marines back pack was from a grey knights interceptor back pack and an apothecary unit

A little more progress tonight under the watchful eye of my 9 year old daughter (got to corrupt them young....) I've assembled and based my legion heavy support squad with the forgeworld volkite culverin set and managed to flock the bases and undercoat them.... All this black has got me thinking about the raven guard or iron fists.... STOP!!!! got to stay focused on angrons finest for now......

Sorry about the picture quality but had to show the full Calth army assembled, based and under coated, I live them so far and as it's been a while away from the hobby loved snipping and gluing, I did another nuncio vox conversion as I was too impatient to wait to order a forgeworld set and loved the results.... just pretty nervous about painting them now as I prefer assembling to painting and hope they turn out to a good enough standard....

Base coated the first despoiler just got the weathering to do now, I don't want them too saturated in blood so will build up the dust/grime first and take it from there, I'm quite happy with my results do far given my novice status but hints and tips are welcomed

I dry brushed the white deliberately to give them a but more of a rough look suited to a world eater

Well not much progress as my kids have side tracked me with star wars.... been planning the next stage and will feature a storm eagle (or 2) with fire raptor support....trying to decide if the spartan would be a better alternative though? Can just see angron and his boys deploying from a storm eagle before its even properly set down..... got to stay disciplined though and finish all my infantry and contemptor first. ....

Painted up my 1st five Legion Despoilers and I'm quite happy with them, I've not put too much blood on them and tried to add a reasonable amount of weathering so they don't look pristine so they fit the character of the World Eaters, my tactical marines won't have as much blood just spots to hint at their feral traits.....couldn't help a mock up with the Red Angel himself.....

Thanks to be fair I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to painting but I like them, desperate to stay disciplined with this army though and paint this lot before adding anything else, stuck between a tank of some sorts or a storm eagle.....

Finally finished my first unit the 10 man despoiler squad, they'll have a more bloodied look than the rest of my tactical squads due to their preference to hand to hand combat, quite pleased with them and looking forward to starting the next squad......as a treat for finishing the despoilers I've started my chaplain but I'll keep him under wraps for now.....
What do you think it'd be great for some feedback. .....

I've gone for ceramite white with necron abyss for the blue detailing, I see the tactical squads as foot slogging from building to building securing the ground for my "mechanised units" to advance forwards, just stuck as to what piece of "hardware" to look towards once all my squads are painted (got to stay disciplined

Chaplain is now sorted, took the photo on my smartphone so the picture doesn't do it justice as it looks rough in the shot, I've gone for a simple black and gold theme which is a sinister contrast to the rest of the force

Decided the characters in power armour will have the 32mm base and legionaries will have the standard 28mm

Had a bash at one of the Cataphractii tonight, rather than the usual white and blue scheme I went for a more sinister black base with white helm and necron abyss shoulder pads to tie him in with the rest of my force, some chips and weathering were applied and the gold dulled down a bit and quite happy with the end result, shame the pictures on my Samsung Galaxy didn't really do it justice, eventually I'll have transfers on the shield and each model will have the World Eaters legion badge on their left shoulder.....what do you guys and gals think?

Thanks I'm pretty much a mediocre painter at best but quite happy so far with the results, just need a aalittle more weathering on the legionaries but I'm getting there, normally after assembling and base coating my attention wins but so far I'm happy with progress too, I paint one unit then treat myself with a character /contemptor, going to be more disciplined and not buy any more until these are all finished this time around
