Hey guys got some fluff questions. (Excuse me if any of it gets confusing, pretty high rn) So I'm currently writing up the deets on my DIY Chaos Warband, they are a Sons of Horus remnants group who have spent the last few millenia growing in strength before revealing thesmelves. They started with serving Abaddon as a means to survive but still worshipped Horus and praised him in secret from prying eyes. The group finally splintered from the Black Legion and made plans to become their own warband, one that reveres Horus and uses Chaos as a tool rather than a means of religion. They have a more developed mantra on the galaxy, they believe that the superior cursed astartes should rule ordinary mortals and that the Imperium should be wiped out and replaced by the strongest.

Now so far in the fluff there are ten members who survived the Horus Heresy and took several others from the Black Legion. They have a small group of Dark Mechanicus Skitarii allied with them along with traitor guards and cultists. They don't push the whole purity of gene-seed as they will take whoever they can so long as they live for the same purpose they do, which is to wage war on the Imperium. They will ally with xenos if there is a common enemy or other benefits. They will always offer a chance to join them before they slaughter Imperial Colonies and raid ships also.

I got an idea to paint the marines the sea green SoH colours but with their former heraldry mentioned somewhere, be it a knee/shoulder pad or something else. So the questions are:

-Who are the Loyalists that would/n't turn to chaos? They will take any of their loyalist or traitor cousins who wish to join them regardless of their former allegiances.

-What other races would follow and ally with them from time to time? I had an idea of them allying with Dark Eldar, trading slaves and the like but I don't know much about the DE to cement this.

-What ship would be a suitable flagship for their fleet-based warband? I thought a Retaliator Grand Cruiser at first but is this too rare? They are understrength compared to other traitor warbands but they make up for it with traitor guard and warmachines.

-Are Word Bearers the only ones who have Dark Apostles? I love the look of Chaplains and the GW Dark Apostle mini, but would it fit fluff-wise outside of the WB's?

-NaME! I can't think of a name for these guys. I was gonna adopt Wolves of Horus after the canon dudes but then I feel I'm losing that small thing that makes them my guys. Any suggestions?

Also this is purely for modelling! If I delve into gaming then I'm adhering like a bitch. Fluff is not concrete it's always gonna be open to change, after all they started out as a World Eaters warband!

Thanks in advance!

1) Pretty much any any chapter of space marines could be argued to have someone go rogue. Of course, it'd take a lot of reasoning for it to be properly argued.

2)Orks serve as mercenaries, for one. Dark Eldar could stick around for fun. You could get some Kroot to go chaos. (And I do love me some Kroot).

3)Sorry, but I have no idea. I'm no expert on ships.

4)I think they only get them. You could maybe argue one left for some larger purpose than what they did there. (Not terribly familiar with them, so I could be wrong on this.)

5)Favored of Horus? Sorry, I can't come up with anything particularly good at the moment.

I'm hoping this was a joke, but just in case: I'm no doctor and am not trying to pry, but I would recommend not doing anything we might regret later on.

Take care.
