Is having an apothecary worth it or is it better to just do terminators over paladins? From what I can tell they are basically the same other than that

The Apothecary is one of the only things Paladins have going for them besides carrying two Psycannons in the same squad, and they're still REALLY expensive. They get more wounds than Terminators for the points, but are less durable to anything S8 and above.

Ah I see. I went to the gw store here and they only had paladins so I was trying to decide if I should just make them terminators

If you're talking about Grey Knight Terminators, they share the same models as GK paladins.

I wouldn't go for Apothecaries, as the 2 wound and 2+ armor of the GKs would already shrug off most small-arms fire. Against stuff that can actually get through that, it would ignore the FnP anyways. It's slightly overkill for the price you pay.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

The issue with Paladins is that most attacks that can bypass their 2+ armor save will also ID them, which makes the extra wound you are paying for useless. If Pallies were cheaper, or T5, or EW, you would field them. As is, you pay way too much for that extra wound.

Apothecaries are absolutely necessary. For the price they still aren't too durable vs small arms.

Second this. With the amount of strength 6/7 high rate of fire spam out there you will be taking a bunch of saves if you choose paladins. Apothecary is very necessary and cheap too.
Plus, chances are you will be rolling around with a ML3 librarian anyway. Hope he rolls invisibility and all of a sudden your paladins are immune to a lot of the weapons that could instakill them. They are good around a central objective, pouring out psycannon fire and making the enemy come to try and deal with them in assault.
