If you think the entire purpose of the ITC is winning, you don't listen to signals with Reece and Frankie and you certainly don't know why they put out their FAQ's. Their goal is to make the tournaments fun for the guys in the middle of the pack, like me. Solid player, not enough $ or time to invest in the new hotness, but I'll have to play the netlist guys who can't play them as well as the top tier players. That is why I play ITC events. They look out for middle-of-the-packers like myself.
To be honest, I did like 5th, but I like 7th more. Do I think 7th is more "whoever spent more, wins?" Sure. Definitely true with the new Tau. Can you buy 3 stromsurges? Congrats, a little finesse and you can win basically any local tourney you want. I do think however, there are more ways to win than end-of-game scoring, which adds another layer to your generalship, which in turn makes the edition more focused on tactics. Now, some lists just bludgeon their opponents off the board, which goes around tactics, but the basis to the thinking is there.
I now see why you write the lists you do. You don't play this game for fun. That's fine, but don't go around claiming you are writing 'fun' lists if your only objective is to smash your opponents face in.
Honestly, you can't be so dense to think that your lists can't be beaten. Is you list very good? Yes. Is it unbeatable? No. I don't think there is an unbeatable list anywhere. Even the screamer 2++ reroll list isn't unbeatable. The new Tau aren't unbeatable, even though I think they are damn near the closest thing right now.
And again, please don't patronize us. Of course your army is awesome in ITC. you have 12 hypermobile obsec units, that get 144 total s6 shots at 36". Not to mention the WK. He speaks for himself.
To sum up, I don't mind looking or even commenting on hyper-competitive lists (which is all that you post) but don't wrap them up in the guise that they are 'fun' or 'fluff' lists. I guess technically this could possibly be sien hamm, but they don't roll the artillery, they are all about quick deploying forces. Swap those out, paint them up red and black and I'm on board.

That's what I'll be taking to LVO.
The thing about ETC Team USA that there are so many top players and only 8 can go. You have to consistently win GTs to make the team.
I like the list a lot, I'm a big fan of white scars that outflank is clutch and game changing. Scouts are always the MVPs haha
Idk to much about how the US team picks there guys since your right there are a lot of top players I've always said there should be a event with all the best players (like the old school GTs GW had) and beau ally the top eight would be the team that goes. But then again with everyone having to have different army's it's a bit harder but most top players can play well with different army's. LVO should be a good showing of some of the best 40k players mostly from western America, wish there was a event like LVO in the east and then have that top 25 from each battle it out in one huge event held somewhere in the middle

We've actually talked about doing that btw. A West vs East event. It would be a blast.

For sum reason Dman is always lucky, and always plays stupid opponents (oh please, your telling me the Tau player puts the riptides in reserves, REALLY???), and always wins. I call BS until he wins a proper tournament...
so let me see if I understand you correctly. If I win it must be luck or my opponent is stupid.? First off we are playing a game with dice everything is luck, you just have better odds on some rolls then others. Second off you assume my opponent is stupid even tho he's won major tournements lol but I'd like to see if you have any battle reports of your games or any major tournement wins. I've won plenty of major events. And I've been playing for about 15 years. What's your definition of a major event.? LVO, BAO.? Well maybe you'll be on a team at this years ETC Greece team event. That is if your on a team.
Your deflecting.. its not about me and my results. I've been playing (tournaments) for 15 years, but you're the one that posted a bunch of armylists with a sh*tload of scatterbikes and act like you and you alone invented competitive Eldar lists. Meanwhile you give a bunch of examples of games you played that for sum reason you totally owned even when you shouldn't. Again..so your either very lucky or play dumb opponents (Again...so your telling me that your supersmart opponent puts his storm surges (3+ save) on the table and keeps his riptides (2+ save) in reserves????? Please...) .
So until I see a full tournament battle report (any tournament that simply got competitive players/armylists) and where other players can vouch for your result and will testify that this Eldar god has beaten them with great skills, I still think its all BS....

Dman,
Out yourself to prevent further trolling. Julio did. My sig outs me enough for most of Calif. to know me.
You talk a lot of trash with no solid evidence. Those awards have no names engraved on them so no proof of being a GT winner.
'Net Search, "Canadian Grand Tournament". No applicable results. Added '2010, 4th edition, warhammer' to it, too. When did it happen & where?
If you went to ETC then Liz knows you. Well?

Lots of desperate butt hurt here. Considering that medal was only handed out to 3 Canadian GT winners. But whatever doesn't count because you cant find the deleted tournament results from GWs old website.

The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

I've found lots of value in the tactics threads, painting and modeling, battle reports, army lists, threads about other games, YMDC, rumours, and off topic categories on dakka, which are the only ones I frequent... I'm sure I'm missing alot of interesting information. I think many users are useful and I'm glad I have access to the information they graciously share. They've helped me enjoy the hobby and grow as a player and hobbyist. It's been fun.
I don't find anything of value in your posts. You're just trolling. Whether intentionally or by total accident, who knows.
Don't mean to be rude, just callin em as I sees em.

This is the problem with this list, and competitive Eldar armies in general. Where's the creativity? Come on now people, the Eldar codex has amazing internal balance and some great overlooked units. Surely there has to be something more appealing than just spamming Scatbikers, D-Weapons, and Wraithknights. When was the last time you saw Eldrad, who makes literally any Eldar army better, in a competitive army?
Could be worse I suppose. At the last tournament I attended, three Necron plays showed up only to discover that they had all brought basically the same list!

I agree. Dman137 needs to step his game up. He hasn't even called anyone a goob, or made incredibly stupid statements about Eldar. He's not even currently banned from the 40k General Discussion subforum, and yet where's his latest troll thread? It's almost sad.

..............Your deflecting.. its not about me and my results.
Your opinion is much like that of the bark of my dog, its loud, annoying and ultimately pointless and below my realm of acknowledgement. if you don't believe me that's fine, but to be fair I don't think anyone that haven't won a GT or any event for that matter should comment on player tactics.
Even your dog doesn't agree with you...He (or she) was probably watching you play against yourself with a Tau army. Dman: "look rex, now I'am putting the riptides in reserves and i'am giving the Eldar army first turn! smart move eh!!" rex: "bark bark bark" -> translation: this is BS! Move out of the basement and join a tournament and try to compete with sum real competitive players!"
Smart dog BTW....

Player tactics, from a guy whom plays the only army, and with a list, that requires 0 tactics or thought? I can honestly say I've seen everything now.

This entire post is gold. I've been laughing from start to finish, but this specific snippet was priceless!!
I mean, I can't be the only one that realizes that half means 50% of a whole. Wtf is a "much larger half"? LOL. I'm sorry. I lost it on that one.

Well?
Dman,
You got time for other posters, but not me?

I don't know why you'd say this forum is a waste when in fact you're using it to troll, "brag" (read as BS), and copy paste Eldar lists. In fact if you step out of your posts (which are the actual time wasters) you can see threads with people giving new armies a shot and getting constructive criticism from those are are experienced in them. And ultimately isn't that what hobbies are? Time wasters? I would go as far as saying a list with no inserts of you is a joke, e.g. You have zero posts in what is the other side of the hobby (painting and modelling) and zero in the lore side, additionally "you win every game" so not even the gaming side has a point.
Why don't you step out of the gaming side for a bit, try to paint your identical wind riders, and Wraith-knights, and if you don't like it perhaps at least have a read of what they're about, what craft-world this sort of force would come out of. And if you realise they're boring (take a look at all the books about WK's) maybe read about some other forces and see if you like any of it, and without reading the codex pick some units you like and want to build around (perhaps the inquisition and harlies guarding/visiting the black library).

Ok first of all, as a tau player myself, can you tell me why the hell someone would put 3 riptides in reserve.
2-If you wanna run an optimal list as a tau, you shouldnt take 3 riptides
3-Stormsurge is OP as hell. It doesnt look like your opponent did pay for the 4++ and obviously did position them really bad haha. Moreover, 1 is enough.
4-Show me that list and i can promise you i can table you turn 2 if i do have the first turn. The strengh of the new taus isnt hiding in the big things but in the synergy that you can pull to make the best use of marker lights and join fire.
5-3 riptides and 2 stormsurges is simply a huge waste ...
6-Have a nice day dude
