So, I hate my failcast Farsight model and decided to make one from the new plastic commander kit. Any suggestions on where to get the sword and shield from? Other GW models, third party, etc? I have no idea what would look good. I want them to look as close to what is on the Farsight model. But I want them in plastic. Any suggestions would be awesome, thank you in advance.

Turns out I had a shield from a Forge World crisis suit, so I just need a sword. Here is what I have so far:

Try the Wraithlord sword, or perhaps one of the large Tomb Kings swords (Ushabti?)
Incredibly nice model, by the way. Truly giving Farsight justice.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Looks quite snazzy on him if I say so myself.

I'm biased but the wraithlord sword works as a two handed weapon just barely (it's big!) but I don't think it'll look good swinging one handed though in your action pose.

I've got more pics in the blog link in my sig or my project thread link above if you're interested. I did a bunch of image searches before doing my own version. Your best (and most expensive) bet would be using a bits bought farsight sword but obviously they're not cheap. I suspect the wraithguard swords would be too small though. The chaos daemon prince sword would work size wise but it looks really chaos-y. The dreadknight one is HUGE and not a good choice either. I've raided my old broken toy bin from my childhood and beyond and used bits from there on some models (including my Riptide variant) so that might be a good place to check. I like the use of Commander Rymr shield with the pose.

Thank you to both of you for the idea. I happened to have a Wraithlord handy and now he has no hand/sword. It was for a good cause. Trimed it up a bit so it isn't that big. I also got rid of the eldar stuff on it. Don't think I'll find anything better. Farsight is done, noe I have 5 more commander boxes coming Friday and I can make the rest of the Eight. I Plan on using commander's legs for Ob'lotai so he will have a unique pose. They are the same size although not quite as thick.
