So I'm new to Warhammer 40k but I've asked others for help and advice and after much research in the rule book, no info was found on what happens if a drop pod lands on another unit. Whether it is aimed at said unit or drifts onto it, does the unit make some sort of save and if so what happens if they fail? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Like I said, still new so be gentle lol

They can't. Their special rule says they just move as far back as possible to be 1" away from the enemy model

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.

See 'Deep Strike Mishaps' on page 162 of the main rulebook for what happens if a unit happens to land on another unit (friendly or enemy) while Deep Striking. Drop Pods have a rule that allows it to reduce scatter to prevent a Mishap, but it can not increase scatter.

What's stopping you from reducing the scatter by -5" to avoid something?

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Because that's increasing it. Some very basic math: farther from zero is more, not less.
