Helping a friend take apart a Predator, I drove a craft knife into the lower half of my thumb, right where it starts, to the bone, then upwards to the joint, severed most of the nerves and now I can't play drums anymore, feel any sensation in that part of my hand, except for cold (and it's always cold), makes modelling and painting a lot harder, and gaming is almost impossible. That's my worst mishap.

Oh man that sucks so hard !

Mostly Lost bits or tiny bits snapped off (Curse your mechanicus and tiny antenna on backpacks...), however my current problem is an entirely lost model.

I bought a miniature from Wargame Exclusive for a buddy as a christmas present. It's the one that's Shadowsun to be exact. Well two days ago I just finished up the hair and was excited that I was pretty much done. She looked as good as she was for my level for painting and all i had to do was glue her together to the base. I took a picture for a friend, sent it off, and through a bunch of menial tasks, by the end of the night, i was putting away all of my projects and I couldn't find the body. I searched all around my desk incase it fell down. I searched my garage where I was priming another model and everywhere I would have gone in that time.

So I'm still looking, but I've gone and ordered another model.

Perchance is this the reason she is your ex?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
At my FLGS we have these big double boards which we put on the tables so that the Realm of Battle boards will fit (the tables are too narrow).
Myself and my friend had just got one too our table and unfolded it when we where asked to move because we next too the painting table and might get in the way of the painters. Having gone through the process of getting the board to the table and unfolding it we did not want to reforld it and repeat the process and decided instead to carry it folded out.
I should have listened to my instincts. My premonitions where telling me bad things would happen but hey, it was only 10 feet.....
We got half way before the hinges gave out.
The two halves of heavy MDF crashed into the floor which would have been bad enough in itself...
Had another members professionally painted SOB and AdMech armies not been in the way. Several hundred pounds worth of minis vanished between the titanic boards and the entire club fell silent as the sound of scattering metal and resin tinkled into silence.
Thankfully the owner of the models was really good about it and we helped gather everything up but since that day I have never done anything by half measures ever again.

The worst accident I have suffered is probably pretty mild compared to all the stuff here.

Filing off the mold lines with a metal file that just happened to have a sharp point (see where I'm going here ). Well I slipped when I was doing it, and it turns out I had shoved the nail file right under my pointer finger nail pretty deep. Didn't realize it had happened until there was blood everywhere.

Spent a good bit of time trying to get that wound to close up so I could get back to work

I got into an argument with an (ex) best friend of mine one wild night, very black out drunk... woke up to find I slammed one of my heavy wooden miniature cases against the wall, shattering a mostly metal converted Daemon prince of nurgle, a table, a lamp, and the empty bottle of brandy.

Managed to repair the model, but not the friendship...

With bad carpotunnel syndrome I stab myself a lot. Basically every one of my 3000 models has blood on it. I am more annoyed with my cat. Privateer Press models come apart alot in my house. Not sure why but It seams like every one of their models needs to be pinned. I pinned my Thunder head, primed, Painted, and finished him. Thunder head was proudly sitting on my desk to show my friends when my cat jumped up on my table , looked me in the eye, then swatted poor Thunderhead off the table onto the floor where he promptly obliterated. All that work....... I hate that cat.

To my models? A friend dropped a bike on my tray of drop pods, breaking all five.

To me? While doing my Hellraiser Wraithlord conversion, I pushed my pin vice bit through my finger and out the other side.

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Oh, the irony is so thick. The first time I ever fielded the unit was against a Tzeentch army, and the entire Corpsethief claw got wiped in a single turn of combat against the enemy Warlord.

I was working on my first scratch build, a vengeance weapon battery made from bits and a soda bottle. I was cutting through the top of the bottle to get the shape of the cannon body and, as you can probably guess, sliced my finger with my x-acto blade. I guess I hit an artery or something because blood literally spurted from my ring finger. I got it all over the desk, floor and mini fridge. It didn't actually hurt at all, just made me angry that I had to clean up all the blood... Not an easy thing to do... especially when the the room had white carpet.

One time I dumped a model into nail polish remover and then scrubbed it without gloves. A little bit of a burning sensation later, and that hand has no fingerprints for a few weeks, which sucks because I work at a place that requires fingerprint readers whenever you need to go in somewhere.

Back when I was still priming with spray cans, I primed about a dozen Space Marines, a Razorback and three bikes in my dads basement workshop at my parents house. He does have an exhaust hood, so it's a nice place to prime, even when the weather outside wouldn't permit it. I left them down there to dry until the next day and went home.

Unluckily for me and my Space Marines, my dad decided to replace and cut bathroom tiles that very evening, which left fine ceramic dust all over my freshly primed miniatures.

I have a Rhino that I out some Bloodletters on to make it look like they're riding it, clinging to the sides. A friend was looking at it and dropped it. From the sounds of it, it's a pretty mild accident though.
