So with the money I got for birthday and Christmas and the beautiful sets that will be released this month, I want to delve in the realm of the Ressurectionists with the crew that drove me into the game in the first place: Kirai Akoku and her spirits of vengeance.
So Crossroads and the box set is given (even if I preferred the old metal sculpt of Kirai over the new super-dynamic plastic one. Probably I will try to fish her from ebay ) and I want to get at least one box of Gaki as the new models are so wonderful. Apart from that it seems I need the Datsue Ba and his additional Seishin which is fine as they are all nice models. The question now is are five Seishin enough? I have only a very rough idea of how many summons she can pull of and how fast the spirits actually die.
So after this I suppose I still got enough money and soulstones left over for one other box. What would be a good addition? I looked into the Hanged which seem actually pretty nice rules-wise but I do not care for them much from the modelling side of things and I don't think they match Kirais theme. But I also don't know what other Spirits came in wave 2 or even wave 3, so if there are some good choices which I don't know yet I would be happy if you pointed them out

I've played more games with Kirai than any other master and fought for a lot of her stuff in the beta. I absolutely love her mechanics as a master, so here's my input:
Definitely get Datsue Ba. She summons Seishin for Kirai, buffs activation order, speeds up other spirits, and is a pretty great melee piece that can combo attacks and get Oiran/Gaki from it.
For Seishin, I've honestly never had more than 3 out at one time. They are Rare 5, so more than that is definitely overkill. You should be sacking them to summon and heal models. They can also tie something up (Yamaziko being the most hilarious victim) if you really need and make them waste AP. Kirai will summon 1 with her 0 and Datsue Ba will do the same. You don't really need to invest in much more generation, as Kirai can do a lot more with her AP than just summon.
Jakuuna is popular among some players. You can use Drowned and Belles to create a mess of hazardous terrain damage, but personally, I don't care for her too much.
Always take the Lost Love. He is absolutely amazing, but often the first target the enemy goes for. He has Kirai's ability to bring out Ikyrio for a card, which is a key part to Kirai's cold war style of play.
For summoning fodder, pick up what you really like the look/feel of. Hanged are absolutely amazing for summons. After that, I often try to bring out a Shikome or some Drowned. Gaki and Onryo are cheap, annoying activations, but can run schemes and often pop out because of Datsue Ba. Night Terrors are pretty great for Reconnoiter and shutting down spells. I like to hire 2 or 3, but rarely summon them.
For Kirai, I rarely take her Shears upgrade. The Unforgiven buffs her summons/The Sundering so much and you don't want her in melee anyway.
For a big beater, definitely consider Izamu. He's a healing spirit that Kirai can teleport up the board with Swirl Spirits and Datsue Ba can give free walks. Alternatively, I'm a major fan of the Carrion Emissary (or run both!). Kirai's Emissary gives +1 walk to everything, has flying, an amazing melee/6 inch ranged attack that does 3/3/4 damage with great triggers, does more summoning, and can block line of sight with Shard Markers to protect things, while also summoning zombies for summoning spirits!
Also, Anna Lovelace is a Wave 3 henchwoman who is absolutely amazing in Ressurs. For 9 soulstones, she's a sturdy lass with good defensive abilities, a nice melee, a non-randomizing cast attack that does 3/3/4 damage that can force horror duels or summon a zombie or seishin on moderate/severe, and she completely shuts down pushes/places near her.

Just seconding the above. Datsue Ba plus seishin, hanged, izamu are all great. The other model that is meant to be super good is Philip and the Nanny, for card draw. Crooligans/necropunks can also be useful, although they don't have any particular synergy with Kirai. As always in ressers, belles are a staple, and I've seen flesh constructs in there too as summoning batteries.

Building off of this, if you want more masters, definitely look into Molly and Yan Lo. Yan works amazingly with spirits and you'll probably get all of the ancestors anyway. Molly has the same summoning pool as Kirai, with a couple of different quirks.
Philip and the Nanny is very meh unless you're dealing purely with scheme markers. Wave 4 may have something to help him out though, hopefully.

Oh god, this. Ikiryo is bad enough, Killjoy bombing and a hanged out of 1 AP and a good card on top of that is cruel and unusual punishment.
