well, the minimum point cost you can field Morty in in 2,000 points ( all lords of war in 30k are at a 2k minimum for fielding them, and they can be 25% of your total army cost) Were I you, I would build something like this:
Praetor w/ Reaping RoW (so your vet. tacticals are troops, but you can't run, and can give every charectar Rad Grenades (excluding mortarion)
Centurion (whatever one you want)
3 10-man veteran tactical marines w/ 2 missile launchers OR 1 missile launcher, 1 flamer (
MLs 'cause their fun, and Morty can give them an optional Poison (4+), and flamers 'cause you can give it shred + gets hot)
5-man terminator w/ heavy flamer (whatever weapons you prefer, I like P. fists.)
Contemptor Dreadnought w/ Kheres and Fist
Sicarian
Mortarion
This should easily break the 2k point mark, and give you a good "core" to expand upon.
from here, I would go with any of the following:
1) Apothecaries: 3 per elite slot, very fluffy and good (
DG had core "21-man"
tac squads with apothecaries acting as secondary srgts. and the 21st man)
2) MK III armor:
DG loves us some MK III
3) More dreadnoughts: They are good, and Morty saw them as the "best" infantry (his whole shtic was infantry who were all-arrounders. Every Tactical marine was also a despoiler, heavy support, and assault marine, etc.)
4) Death Shroud: 2 wound terminators with multiple S: 5
AP: 2 attacks? and for only 10-points over regular terminators? yes please!
5) anything and everything you think looks cool: 30k seems to be less
WAAC, and more "rule of cool" for armies.
6) Heavy support squads: your RoW makes them troops, and nothing is more fun then mass Autocannons/missile launchers/ lascannons
