I was looking at the limited amount of information that has been released on the G1-A Starfighter and that is a offensive machine. I was thinking:

Zuckess + Expose + Experimental Interface + Mist Hunter + Tractor Beam + FCS + Glitterstim

Cartel Marauder

Cartel Marauder

Cartel Marauder

Assuming you've fired once already for the FCS to trigger, you can have a focus and 5 attack dice with Expose and a target lock - 6 attack dice at range 1. That is a lot of offensive power in one ship.

Has anyone else experimented with this ship?

Given we know next to nothing other than 'sort of b-wingy' I'm not sure wild list speculation is much use, that said...

Still not sold on the Tractor Beam, might be a thing on the Defender with the Cannon title, I suspect some theory craft and list tailoring will be needed (bonus New Year prediction people will try in on scyks!)

EXP interface on a ship that most likely will have a average / not great dial might not be the best idea ever

Also Expose is a terribad EPT, yes it could lead to all sorts of magical christmas land attacks, or in a more normal galaxy getting shot to bits

The tractor beam is only there because Mist Hunter requires it - it would never be used, but I would think that adding barrel roll is worth 1 point.

I don't get why experimental interface makes a difference to the dial. It has no impact on the maneuverability of the ship. It is there so that you can use focus/evade/barrel roll with Expose. I don't know about magical christmas land attacks, but I would think that focus coupled with 3 base damage and Zuckess's ability to add a damage die - that is 4 base damage a turn and expose adding a fifth isn't some magical scenario. It is what he can shoot every turn.

It's because using Experimental Interface causes you to gain stress which in turn limits your maneuver options for the following round if you want to clear said stress to perform actions.

Because EXP interface generates stress which means with a dial that will most likely be very light on green shedding that stress could be an issue

The problem with Expose is it eats agility, meaning if the G1-A is 1 agility and you use it your not rolling any green, you'll likely to come off worse in a joust than whatever your shooting at especially at range 1, I'm fairly sure the maths backs up that It's always better to Focus or TL than it is to Expose

I want to love this ship, but I have my doubts. If it is costed and maneuvers somewhat like a B-wing with evade instead of barrel roll, I'll be happy. 23pts for the basic ship would be good. I haven't been super impressed with the kihrax, maybe because the t-70 came out two weeks later or whatever and the Aces stink. I want this ship to be awesome, but I just don't see it and pouring a ton of upgrades into it doesn't make sense. The dial is not going to allow you to remove stress that easily. It has the system upgrade slot so already it will be more than the base price for fcs, adv sensors or maybe jammer, but just like the named bwing pilots they get too expensive too quickly to use on a regular basis. Maybe a tactician and fcs is all you'll run on them but then they're already27 pts at least for a one green die ship

Actually, I wish they had included something besides the tractor beam there a e two of them and at best you can only use one on the mist Hunter, I wish there was a new system upgrade or one of the other scum upgrades available on Denver, or one of the juke or cool hand kind of upgrades.

Tractor beam tokens are removed at the end of the turn, so you need to run them on serissu, or run all ps 5 or 2 ships to get any use out of them, frankly they'll probably be too expensive on scum ships to be worth it. I'd rather they be on a different ship. The new unreleased TIE defender title is where they will shine.
