Does Wampa's ability bypass shields? It says that you cancel you die results and if you cancel a crit, the enemy ship gets one facedown damage card.

Yes, it's rare, but a few card effects bypass shields, this is one of them

As a general rule, you do exactly what the card says. Most cards say "suffers X damage", which means that the damage is applied just like any other damage and hits shields first. A few cards (Wampa, proton bombs, for example) specifically state that you deal a damage card. This is not "damage" so it does not follow the usual process. The ship simply receives the appropriate number of cards. Similarly, anything (such as plasma torps) that specifically removes shield tokens also skips the usual process and can never give a ship damage cards.

I was thinking that if youngster had Marksmanship, then Wampa might be a nasty combo. Turn a focus icon into a crit and then cancel dice to deal a damage card.

It is only once, you can't apply two damage card if you have two crits, correct?

Wampa's ability is not 'for each'... so there is no way to push more than a single crit through with a single Wampa attack.
The awesome thing about this is that you cancel your damage before your opponent rolls their defense dice. You roll a crit, Fel takes a hit. Super good with Howlrunner, and Marksmanship Youngster makes it crazy.

EDIT: Fixed it.

Face down damage card, you mean.

Almost got it, but it's not a hit, it's a damage card. This is a very important difference since Fel usually has a stealth device.
