Me and some friends already have the main rulebook but I seen the set of books for the end times, are they worth getting or just stick to the normal rules?

Are you still playing Warhammer Fantasy 8th ed? The End Times books were written for that game and the fluff is set in the old world. If you are playing AoS they don't have much use, IMO.

BECAREFUL. I know the latest "set" GW is selling is just FLUFF and NO RULES so be careful what "set" you are buying.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

The fluff is more valuable than the rules. But as pointed out don't pay more for them than you need to.

I spent more money on them than I'd like to because I bought them when people still thought they were going to be valuable transitional rules to 9th...

I have the Skaven one. Haven't used the rules for it really. I still play 8th Ed Fantasy and I just got it because skaven are my main army and my favourite army (and first fantasy one) so I've amazed like 7k points of them and have almost everything for them so I thought that I needed it, for the fluff more than the rules....yet I still haven't had any time to read it and I've had it since preorder lol

I don't think they are worth getting unless you want the fluff....Thanqoul came with some pretty awesome campaign rules tho actually which I've been meaning to try!

See, I don't understand this. Unless you do 100% of your gaming in a gw store, those books and rules can last for as long as you choose to use them, in the same way that I might plug the master system in once in a while for a game of Alex the Kid. If you do do all of your gaming in a gw store, having to buy new stuff is the compromise that have to accept in exchange for free entry, free use of terrain covered tables, ready access to other opponents etc.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I bought the novels, and quite enjoyed them.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

I am curious. How many games did you get in?
