Which one do you think has more potential for competition and why?

Gladius, easily. The Lion's Blade has Auxiliary choices that are easier to fit in at lower points levels, but its Formation/Detachment bonuses are much worse than those of the Gladius.

I'd still say Gladius, generally. I'll caveat that by admitting I haven't played with or against the RW SF.

Scout Move on GSF White Scars is certainly preferable.

Over watching with full BS is not coming in this handy, as close combat Is generally underpowered these days.

Gladius is garbage for any CT except White Scars and Iron Hands.

Going to a Full Battle Company, the restrictions are nearly unworkable, and the benefit of free transports means you have to spend ridiculous amounts of points on mediocre, non-game-winning units to get more, free, mediocre non-game-winning units. Huzzah!

So, yeah, the Ravenwing is vastly better than BDC, Gladius, or GBC. There are no balls-out amazing formations for Marines, unless you really want to take 3-of something. Since most CT's already have an offensive benefit regarding re-rolling attacks, the availability of Doctrines overlaps their abilities, for the most part.

Ultras are solid in pod config with Sicarius. Iron Hands... huh? Having played IH back when every vehicle had IWND, I can tell you it is massively useless. Not a single time in all my games has it made a difference. Not one. And I had a crazy amount of tanks.

Huh? I can make it fit in 1500 pts without too much of a problem. You know you don't have to max out your squads to get the benefit of a full battle company, right?

Individually, most units in a battle company are indeed nothing to write home about, but you just have so many bodies and tanks that most armies struggle to cope. And everything is ObSec, which is seriously painful to deal with for everyone save maybe Eldar.

The Gladius is better because of the silly combo-power it has with White Scars and Kor'sarro Khan, while the Combat Doctrines are generally more applicable than full Ballistic Skill Overwatch.

Hah. I feel like you haven't played anyone good with a Gladius yet...

I agree with the IH comment. Even if you go by ITC Gladius with IH is trash. IWND is garbage on anything less than av13 vehicle wise. With ITC rules if going with vehicles you are better off running CAD with IH.

I'm confused. You're gaining 500 points of obsec models (for free) which can move 18" per turn and are immune to s4 or less fire. How are free obsec units not literally winning you the game?
