Hello fellow dakkanauts wanted to ask you all for some advice on some must have staples for the AM force I am getting. The components will be listed below. One of the items I want to eventually get for it is a baneblade but that is something that will be part of the extra toys side of things.

11x 10 man squad with Sgt and I believe a vox caster each.
3x Chimera
1x Leman Russ
1x Valk
4x Commissar
3x Psykers
19x Random guards (thinking of converting into vets)
19 special weapons (not sure what is what until they arrive. Will buy bits to build out good variety if need be)
5x Autocannon Teams
3x Las Cannon Teams
3x Missile Launcher teams
2x Mortar Teams
1x Current Codex
1x Sentinel (magnetizing all weapons for it)

Thank you for reading and any advice given. As far as playstyle I want to try gunline for fun but want to have a good solid collection to build various lists.

People go to church and pray to entities for whatever reason. This guy just has his own set of theories. If 2000 years ago some guy wrote a book about the warp while lighting a bush on fire - there would be a whole bunch of people in temples right now worshiping warp related activity.

I guess I'm not sure what you are asking about. Do you want suggestions of what kind of lists you can build from the components you've obtained? That's what I'll provide, but if you want something else you need to give more details.

If that's the case, I would make 2 blobs. One blob with autocannons and one with lascannons. If you have flamers, take maximum flamers in the blobs. Each blob gets a commissar (a priest would be much, much better long term). I would also look into making sergeants into power axe wielders (or at least melta bombs).

Then three squads of vets in the chimeras.

Don't take the battle cannon Leman Russ, it's too expensive and doesn't do much. Take the Punisher or maybe Executioner.

Valkyrie I would change into a vendetta and stick a platoon command squad in there for distant objective grabbers that are expendable. Even if you don't change it to a vendetta, stick the platoon command squad here.

Missile launchers, mortars, sentinel...paint them up nice and put them somewhere on a shelf where you can admire them. That's all the use you're going to get out of them.

For HQ I would take Yarrick if one of your commissars looks beefy enough.

You might also consider sticking Primaris Psykers in each blob. Roll on Divination or Biomancy. You might get lucky and get a good power, worst comes to worst just take prescience. You're not likely to succeed frequently with the powers, but when you do, it will greatly improve your army.

In today's meta, IG struggle mightily. They just don't have enough mobility to score objectives. If you have access to the Imperial Armour books and your opponents aren't kill-joys, there are some fun options there. The Elysians can all deep strike so it fixes some of the mobility issues.

More like what else should I buy for the army. Or what staples am I missing for a well rounded IG army.

I gave some suggestions on that front, but here's what else I find works:

Artillery (specifically Thudd guns and other gun carriages, tank versions are too flimsy)
If you want artillery tank take a few wyverns
Vulture or two (most people just convert them from Valkryie)

Baneblade and it's ilk are over priced for what they do. So if you're looking for super heavies Id look to a knight.

Thank you for all of the advice. I greatly appreciate it.
