Subject: Rebel two 100 pt List
|
 |
Stalwart Space Marine
|
Rebel 1 100pts
Poe Dameron - BB8, Opportunist, Autothrusters (39)
Grey Squadron Pilot - R2-F2, Ion Cannon Turret (28)
Blue Squadron Pilot - Hull Upgrade, Proton Torpedoes (22)
The list comes up to 96 points, I did have a second P Torpedoe on the Blue Sqd but in the one game I played with this list only manage to use one. If you guys have any inputs and suggestions towards any of these 3 ships go ahead.
Rebel 2 98 pts
Airen Cracken - Deadeye, Cluster Missiles, Shield Upgrade (28)
Jake Farrell - A Wing Test Pilot, Push the Limit, Wired, Proton Rockets, Stealth Device (34)
Garven Dreis - R5-D8, Proton Torpedoes, Hull Upgrade (36)
This list is just for fun one. Trying something out using different pilots.

Sorry, but these lists are just bad.
Rebel 1 100pts
Poe Dameron - BB8, Opportunist, Autothrusters (39)
Grey Squadron Pilot - R2-F2, Ion Cannon Turret (28)
Blue Squadron Pilot - Hull Upgrade, Proton Torpedoes (22)
None of this makes any sense. Opportunist on Poe makes very little sense because he's the first to shoot and your opponent will still have their tokens. R2-F2 is weak in general and makes no sense on a y-wing that tanks with its sheer number of HP and not its green dice. And hull/shield upgrades on low-agility ships are very rarely worth their cost because they have so few green dice multiplying their effectiveness. Honestly, I'm not sure what to suggest to fix this list, besides "scrap it and start over from the beginning".
Airen Cracken - Deadeye, Cluster Missiles, Shield Upgrade (28)
Jake Farrell - A Wing Test Pilot, Push the Limit, Wired, Proton Rockets, Stealth Device (34)
Garven Dreis - R5-D8, Proton Torpedoes, Hull Upgrade (36)
This is better, but still has a lot of dead weight. The hull and shield upgrades are wasted points for the same reason as the previous list, while R5- D8 and the torps are wasted points on a ship that wants to focus every turn. Just by dumping marginal upgrades you could bring an entire additional z-95 and still have a couple of points left for fine-tuning stuff. The Jake + Garven combo is decent though, so that's not a bad place to start.

Alright thanks. Just made these up and wanted opinions. I'm trying to stay away from the cheese, but I see a lot of good points!

Well for the first one, if you want these 3 ships there are definitely better options. I think this is more effective:
Poe Dameron - R2-D2, Veteran Instincts, Integrated Astromech (36)
Grey Squadron Pilot - R2 Astromech, Twin Laser Turret (25)
Blue Squadron Pilot - Fire Control System(22)
This leaves you with 15 points, which I might use for an Ion Pulse Missile (or naked) Z-95. There is literally no reason to run Grey Squadron over Gold. The bump from PS 2 to 4 really won't make much of a difference and if you have the 2 points left, the initiative bid is probably a better investment. The big problem here is that all 3 of these ships do different things pretty well, but an organized opponent with more redundancy in his ships can gang up on you and take them down one by one. Just my limited experience talking, so a veteran might see it differently.

This is not a game like 40k. You do not have to deliberately avoid taking good ships/upgrades to make the game enjoyable.

Using r5-p9 instead of r2-d2 plays into Poe's desire to have a focus token. And you save a whole point. Yeah, I know.
Nera Dantels with ordnance , extra munitions and a guidance chip might be a nice combo, especially with a FCS...

Yeah, Guidance Chips will be nice on a B-Wing. Which torps would you use though? None of them seem great. Maybe Ions?

I've seen arguments for both, actually. R5-P9 keeps your dial open when you need to get shields back, but R2-D2 gives you a shield even if you lose your action or need to boost instead of focusing.

Probably proton torps just for sheer damage potential. With guidance chips you're pretty consistently getting four hits, at least two of them crits. Throw in crack shot and that's some nice, though a bit expensive, firepower.
