I'm curious what type of combi weapon people like, not meaning that grav or plasma is the best choice for killing things, I'm curious what visual style people like. This was the first combi weapon I ever saw and I loved it: The underslung design reminds me of actual real world weapons which can slip a grenade launcher in the same spot under the barrel, plus the magazine in the back is pretty cool and the whole design of the gun fits perfectly imo. These seem to be the norm these days for combi weapons: I can't stand this design as the combi weapon is way too prominent. It looks like hs is carrying a melta gun with an integrated bolter, not the other way around. I'd expect that gun to be able to fire it's meltagun as many times as you need in a game, not once. And then there is this I have seen a couple of times which I think is the terminator version of a combi: That one I just find ugly. I'm not so much interested in making this a poll or anything, but I'm curious about people's thoughts. In an ideal world I'd want to see the underslung part like on Azrael as the version they use in the sternguard kit and the like.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

I'm a fan of the type that comes in the BaC set. It's underslung like in Azrael's case, and it looks really good imo.

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Battle Sisters have the underslung versions (of Melta and Flamer anyway), and they look pretty neato.

I like Azrael's kind as well. It's also one of the few bullpup weapon designs in the setting.
The one the terminator librarian has not only looks like a conversion done by a 5 year old, but is also totally counter-intuitive to how a weapon works (specifically, how the hell do you aim that thing when the ironsights are basically lopsided to the barrel?).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do. |

Through the interface with the terminator armour I would presume. But since that Librarian is not hearing the helmet, I'd just say via The Force (ie psychic powers).

I prefer the overslung variant. For stuff like a Combi-Plasma, the underslung variant would probably fry the user's hand off if held in both hands.

Azrael's Bullpup style is far and away my favorite. That gun is friggin awesome and I was a tiny step away from starting Dark Angels JUST because of that. But the Lightning Claw on Lugft Huron won out in the end for my Biker list force (though neither actually has a bike but whatever).

As an Ork this has to be my favorite just because it looks like someone superglued a missile to an assault rifle.
