Some Eldar players have been griping about the new Tau. The Stormsurge, while OP, is not nearly as undercosted as the WK.

I'm giggling at the irony since the Wraithknight use to be considered "like the Riptide, but more balanced".
Now it's more or less the other way around, with the Wraithknight being OP and the new tau suit being "balanced", at least in comparison.

Well, most Grav platforms do have alternate weapons for dealing with Orks and Demons. Bikers still have twin-linked Bolters, Centurions have missiles or hurricane Bolters. Still not in the same category as a Scatter Laser though.

Having to get close enough to make bolters effective is generally not advisable against those lists. Nothing beats 36" S6 ROF 4. It's been broken since the day they printed it. There just have always been ameliorating circumstances up until now.

That was my point. Grav platforms have to work to be universally useful. Sccatterbikes can just spam their lasers from a long distance away with almost nothing being able to respond.

Space Marine thunderfire cannons en-mass was an eye opener for me. I can't say for certain what's better but the SM do have some interesting ways of dealing with current pain-in-the-powerpack builds

I have to admit, the Thunderfire cannon can be great fun, one of the best 100pt units in the game, or at least the marine book. I only use a single one in my Iron Hands force, but by jove it wreaks havoc. I've had it single highhandedly wipe out my regular opponent's Khorne Berzerkers, CSM's, Cultists and Bloodletters before they managed to even move up the table towards me. However, it would be a completely different story against a jinking Eldar army that would likely just shoot it to pieces with lots of cover ignoring firepower
I won't say anymore on Eldar in this thread as it is becoming an 'Eldar are overpowered' thread and I have mentioned them a few times now. Sorry Eldar players, no disrespect intended.

Actual Eldar would probably like us complaining about how superior they are to us dirty mon'keigh lol. That and the infighting is probably something they caused so another eldar life would be saved.

That's not exactly surprising though. Nor is it meaningful, really. Gladius and Eldar are strong for different reasons. And Eldar is just particularly well suited to countering the Bangles' strengths.
Martel732 wrote:You're not playing the right Eldar opponents, then. Scatterlasers trim down the Gladius quickly.
I've faced mass scatterbikes and wraithspam from some of the best players in my area. Yes, you lose a lot of tanks, but unless you're playing KPs, that doesn't really matter - as long as you've still got a single marine on one more objective than they do, you still win.
