I got in a fun game today with a cool Eldar list. I was only going to take a picture of my opponent's army because I loved his Wraithknight conversion, but decided to just do a whole batrep. We played the Maelstrom Escalation Mission, with Hammer and Anvil deployment. After placing terrain, I used Arkos' warlord trait to choose the side with Ruins and gave up the ability to deploy and go first. I rolled my D6 for my Legacy of Ruin, and rolled a 1; it now does me no good, and he gets an extra point if he destroys my Fire Raptor. Great start. Anyway, here are the lists:

Crimson Slaughter CAD (Alpha Legion)

Eldar Craftworld Warhost
Spoiler:

1- Spiritseer
ELITES
10- Wraithblades w/ axes and shields

5- Wraiths w/ D cannons

2- War Walkers: Scatter Lasers
HEAVY SUPPORT
1- Wraithlord: 2 flamers, 2 Eldar Missile Launchers
LORD OF WAR
1- Wraithknight: sword 'n board

How do you all think this one will turn out? Pics coming soon!

Eldar Deployment (after scout moves)
Spoiler:

He's deployed everything, minus the Crimson Hunter.

CSM Deployment
Spoiler:

I have reserved my Termies for deep strike, and Arkos is in the pod with the Chosen. I probably should have deep struck my Raptors, but I thought he'd be coming to me. I failed to Seize, and it was Eldar with first turn.

Eldar Turn 1
Spoiler:

The Eldar move up with blazing speed. His Wraiths were moving up very quickly, thanks to good run moves. His Farseer Fortuned the Wraithblades, and I blocked Guide on the War Walkers. His War Walkers on my left flank decided to give me the finger by missing only one shot anyway, and put something like 13 wounds on my Raptors, who were subsequently wiped off the board. The War Walkers on my right flank shot at one of my Maulerfiends, but I made the one cover save he glanced me with. His Guardians are staying in the backfield, waiting for the "all clear" to come out of hiding.

CSM Turn 1
Spoiler:

Arkos and his boys came screaming in, and scattered badly from midfield to the edge of the table. They were eventually only able to kill 2 Wraiths with their Meltaguns. The Maulerfiends split up. I had contemplated sending them both into the Wraithblades, not having had experience against them, and not knowing they had a 4++. I came to be glad I did not send both to their doom. One Maulerfiend got into the War Walkers, and wrecked one and damaged another. The other Maulerfiend maybe managed to kill one Wraithblade, but Fortune kept his guys alive and kicking. He rolled very poorly here for his attacks, and only did 2 HP back to my Maulerfiend. One of my Cultist units tried to sneak around the right flank, but I forgot to run them, and they were stuck out in the open. Whoops.

Eldar Turn 2
Spoiler:

The Crimson Hunter came screaming in, and penned my Contemptor, shaking him. The Wraithknight beat my Cultists who were holding the Comms relay to death, and consolidated toward my Contemptor.

His War Walkers shot my exposed Cultists who were foolishly out in the open, killing all but 2; they made their morale. His Wraithblades did much better this turn, killing the Maulerfiend. My other Maulerfiend killed his War Walker and consolidated toward the Wraithlord. His Wraithlord shot at my Cultists behind the ADL, but only killed maybe one or two thanks to cover saves.

His Guardians and two remaining Wraiths in range shot Arkos' unit, killing all but one Meltagunner and Arkos, who made morale.

CSM Turn 2
Spoiler:

My Fire Raptor and Termies came in, but the Heldrake did not. So much for buying a Comms Relay. On top of that, my Termies Mishapped back into ongoing reserves due to a really bad scatter. To make things worse, the Fire Raptor did almost no damage. The main cannon only killed one Wraith from the 5-man squad in the forest. I shot the left Autocannon battery at the Crimson Hunter, but it jinked away any damage; it did kill one War Walker, though I believe.

The Maulerfiend made it back to the Guardians on my right flank, and killed half the squad, who broke and ran. The Maulerfiend consolidated back toward the middle, in case I felt feisty and taking another run at those Wraithblades. Arkos and his boy split up, as I needed 3 units near his table edge for extra points this turn. They shot, then charged the 2-man Wraith unit, killing them and consolidating back toward his table edge.

Eldar Turn 3
Spoiler:

Oh Contemptor, I knew ye well. The Wraithknight smashed him to bits, but not before he fired his Autocannon overwatch and actually put a wound on him! Take that!

OK, here I think my opponent made a critical mistake, and told him afterwards. He had (I believe) two of the Wraiths in range of either the Chosen or Arkos, and he opted to shoot the Wraiths at the Chosen, saying he was confident weight of fire from the Guardians would take Arkos down. Well, the Wraiths "6'ed" the Chosen, and Arkos lived with 1 wound remaining. That would bite him in the tail, as Arkos was now royally pissed. I believe his Guided War Walker shot up at my Fire Raptor, and I decided not to jink; he glanced me twice!

CSM Turn 3
Spoiler:

Terminators arrive, and I attempted to land on the objective they are facing at the top of the picture; instead I scatter into the maw of the beast. Even worse, I pop their Plasmaguns and thanks to Fortune, DON'T KILL A SINGLE WRAITHBLADE. Oh, I did make my 3 armor saves from "gets hot!" at least.

The Fire Raptor moves up, and this time his main cannon goes to work, eliminating the 5 man Wraith squad. The left autocannon shoots the Guardians, who go to ground; the right shoots the Crimson Hunter, who jinks but takes no damage. My Heldrake came in, and vector struck the War Walkers, maybe doing a HP. The Baleflamer targets the Wraithblades, who again make all but possibly one of their saves thanks to Fortune.

The Dreadclaw Fire Sweeps the Guardians, and Arkos chucks a grenade at them, killing most. They make morale, and Arkos fails his charge and is left standing like a dope.

The Maulerfiend chased down the Guardians that ran from him, and killed a few more, who again failed morale and ran.

Eldar Turn 4
Spoiler:

I believe I stopped Fortune this turn with Deny the Witch. Wraithlord put a HP on my Heldrake, knocking out the Baleflamer, and the Wraithblades made mincemeat of my Terminators. Not only did I not kill any Wraiths in combat, not one of my Terminators even hit!

HIs Wraithknight jumped and ran his way to get to my other Cultist unit on my right flank. His Vector Dancing Crimson Hunter shot my Cultists behind the ADL, but failed to hit thanks to snap-shooting.

CSM Turn 4
Spoiler:
I forgot to take pics this turn, but my Heldrake vector struck the Wraithblades, maybe kiling 1. The Fire Raptor dropped into hover, leveling two guns at the Wraiths and one at the Crimson Hunter. A few Wraiths fell, and the Crimson Hunter again made all jink saves. Arkos wiped out the Guardians that he had failed a charge on last time; they actually put a wound on him during overwatch, and I thought he was going to get wiped out, but he made his armor save! The Maulerfiend moved in on the Wraithblades, but failed his charge, despite the fleet re-roll! Critical fail!

Eldar Turn 5
Spoiler:

I had moved my Cultists on the other side of the Ruins, out of line of sight of the Wraithknight, so they got a reprieve from their impending doom. He did run right up in their faces, however.

Wraithlord hopped down and flamed my Cultists, who made morale.

He finally forced my Fire Raptor to jink, and his Wraithblades got the charge on my Maulerfiend and destroyed it.

I should have manned up and taken it, but I couldn't risk losing the Fire Raptor. Stupid War Walkers...

CSM Turn 5
Spoiler:

I believe I stayed in hover with the Fire Raptor, and it did almost nothing thanks to snap shooting. I also believe I dropped the Heldrake into hover and brought the Dreadclaw over in front of it to screen, though this turn is fuzzy for me. I think this pic was before the movement, but could be wrong.

Arkos had consolidated toward my opponent's backfield objective, and ran his way over along the ridge to hide from the Crimson Hunter.

Turn 6
Spoiler:

I didn't separate out the pics for the last turn, it went fairly fast. The score was actually very close before this turn, with only a one point difference. The Wraithknight crushed my Cultists.

I had boosted my Drop Pod in front of my Heldrake as a buffer for those Wraithblades, and it worked; they chopped up my Drop pod, which left my hovering Heldrake to turbo boost onto an objective to its right.

My Fire Raptor went into hover as well, and went over to the Objective where the War Walker was, as I needed that one. The Raptor managed to knock off the last HP and claim that Objective. I didn't take a pic, but Arkos had moved onto an objective in his backfield, and I had needed that Objective; also one of my Objectives was to have my Warlord on an Objective. Essentially, I drew all the right cards that last turn, and managed to pull ahead by a few points.

VICTORY TO THE ALPHA LEGION!!
