Hey Guys sorry to spam the forums but 'im the only WH40K player I know of in this AOR so I have no one to bounce idea off of. So I was wondering what if IG(AM) Squad leaders (NCO) could equip lasguns, but still retain their CCW benefit of getting 2 hits in close combat. As a veteran of combat and years of experience of carry a lasgun, it would be tough to think he'd be in favor of giving it up for a lasp pistol and CCW. The +2 hits in close combat could be explained by the fact that he is experience in rifle fight technique, doing a quick buttstroke, followed by a downward slash with the bayonet. This would add more shots to those who run blobs, and be just a bit more fluffy.

What do ya'll think?

A Vet Sarge / Junior Officer both get an additional attack on their profile, to represent CC potential. If they could keep the additional attack for Pistol and CCW, why wouldn't all guardsmen get the bonus CC attack for "TWO WEAPONS" ?

If you want a longer ranged weapon on your leaders, pay one point and get a bolter. They're worth it, I do that for pretty much every single leader, unless I'm short on that one or two points.

Very true, thanks. As an NCO I still tote a rifle, so I may do that, right now my NCOs carry bolt pistols and e-tools, and my Lord Commisssar (who is a fleet cadet-commissar, not to many naval officers are brave enough to do shore party operations haha) carries a bolter, with his BS, its pretty effective.

Do you know the best way to get a bunch of scout marine style bolters or any kind of bolters (other than buying a scout marine kit)?

My Death Korps Watchmasters can all have lasguns for free, but they lose their laspistol and so they lose their +1 attack in CC, I consider it a good tradeoff, especially since the lasgun is affected by FRFSRF.

Yeah, I be more in favour of a simpler Sergeant may swap their laspistol or CCW for a lasgun at no additional cost. No keeping the extra attack from two CCWs, as they traded it for the lasgun.

Swapping all characters' pistol + CCW for lasguns would suit my Elysians really nicely too...

I am suprised FW didn't include that option for the Elysians as well.
