I... actually don't know. Help?

I personally stat out by lightly sponging the places I want weathered with my highlight colour, and then Runefang Steel. Might not be weathering, but I also hit most recesses with a 25/25/50 mix of Firedragon Bright, Doombull Brown and Seraphim Sepia to simulate dirt/rust.

Weathering can mean a lot of things and each can be equally 'best' depending on the circumstances, material and effects required.
Dust, rust, mud, frost, chipping, scratching, pitting, gouging, wearing, tearing, sunbleached, stained, corroded, eroded, scorched, rubbed, flaking, burnishing, denting etc

Everyone: No.

This. Asking for best weathering methods is about as useful as asking "how do I paint a model".

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Additionally, I do have a few favourites that I use but they are very case specific and the methodology and recipie used to achieve them changes depending on the subject.
How I approach blood spatter is very different depending on the subject.
On a 28mm human wearing white armour I will use one combination. On a black tank, red fur, green cloak, bare skin I will use others.

Just be a little more specific, and we can help. I do up my 40K stuff much differently than I did my 1/72 scale WWII stuff years ago. And even as far as my 40K army goes, I weather different surfaces differently depending on the environment the mini is supposed to be in, determined by its base, or, if it doesn't have a base, how the rest of the army has been done so far. I'm sure if you give more specific details, plenty of people here will have more than enough information for you.

There was a somewhat generic weathering thread a little while ago....

Otherwise if you're looking for specific help you'll need to post more information.

The best weathering technic is to not use one but several technics.
Masking products + sponge + washes + oil or enamels + pigments + micropainting + ...
Pick at least three in the list and you'll have a good start.
