Hey guys i've just found out about the glory that is BFG and I've started making Some of the easier to convert fleets such as the Tyranid and Dark Eldar (To match my 40k army quite conveniently). But my issue is that i don't know anyone who also plays. So my plan was to have a quite a few different fleet and get all my warhammer buddies into it also. The number one issue with this is the price of these models. So the questions start here:
1) Has gamesworkshop given up the goat with BFG as in they no longer have anything to do with it?
2) Are there any other company's who have picked up on it and started making models that are the same of very darn close?
3) If there is anyone in NZ who plays I'd love to get in contact
I have fallen in love with this game and really would love to get my hands on a variety of different fleets. OR just have a bunch of people who are just as enthusiastic to talk to or have a game with, All suggestions welcome.

1) Confirmed that BFG will come back at some point, but no details about whether that means a full relaunch, just models, or new models at a different scale (yuck, please no), etc. If you want "updated" rules, there's a lot of fan compilations such as BFG:Revised, the 2010 FAQ, and so forth, but not everyone plays with those. (AFAIK there's a 2007 FAQ which is the last "official" one). Check out http://www.forum.specialist-arms.com/index.php#c3 for all your BFG needs!
2) Yes. There are quite many on Shapeways and elsewhere providing similar models or comparable proxies for BFG. There's a thread on the Specialist Arms forums with more details and links.
3) Can't help you with this one, sorry!
Good luck putting together a group! It's such a fun game, with the depth of complexity like classic 40k, but way faster to play and get into than the current mess of 7th ed.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also is there a PDF or something that has the bast makers and baring compass? as well as the faces of the dice? I've been trying to find something that resembles it but haven't had any luck and my photoshop skills leave a lot to be desired
