Hello, i´ve recently decided to pickup this hobby again after a break since 5th ed I have no idea of current meta but i´d like to build an army consisting of deathwing terminators with belial in either a full deathwing squad with the spearhead landraider formation or an allied detachment with deathwing + adepta sororitas (SoB), input is super welcome!
The goal with these lists isnt to be super competitive but i´d like to do decently in friendly games playing a decently balanced army of awesome models!

Down below im gonna post 2 lists i´ve been working on, currently the only models I own are 3x terminator squads, belial and 1 land raider so my options on how to continue are quite open.

CAD (520pts)

HQ (65pts)

Librarian (65pts)

Troops (140pts)

--Scout Squad (70pts)

Camo Cloaks 5x Sniper Rifle

--Scout Squad (70pts)

Camo Cloaks 5x Sniper Rifle

Heavy Support (315pts)

--Land Raider (250pts)

--Whirlwinds (65pts)

Formation (765pts)

Deathwing Redemption Force (765pts)

--Deathwing Knights (235pts)

4x Deathwing Knights 1xKnight Master

--Deathwing Terminator Squad (220pts)
Assault Cannon

--Deathwing Terminator Squad (220pts)
Assault Cannon

--Librarian (90pts)
Terminator Armour

(Allied Detachment) (563pts)

HQ (135pts)

--Saint Celestine (135pts)

Troops (318pts)

--Battle Sister Squad (159pts)
5x Sisters 1x Flamer 1x Heavy Flamer
1x Immolator dedicated transport

--Battle Sister Squad (159pts)
5x Sisters 1x Flamer 1x Heavy Flamer
1x Immolator dedicated transport

Fast Attack (110pts)

--Seraphim Squad (110pts)
4x Seraphims 2x Hand Flamers

Deathwing Spearhead termies 1850P
Spoiler:

HQ: 190P
Belial

Elites: 235P
5x Deathwing Knights Inc. Knight Master

Troops: 660P
5x DW Termies Inc, Seargent 1x Assault Cannon
5x DW Termies Inc, Seargent 1x Assault Cannon
5x DW Termies Inc, Seargent 1x Assault Cannon

Heavy Support: 765P
3x Land Raiders with Storm Bolters

As earlier mentioned it´s not supposed to be an tournament winning list but I would like to have a fiar chance vs the most common armies out there knowing that fast attacks and psy could be an issue.
Thanks in advance for your inputs!

I have zero experience with Deathwing but I can give a little advice about the Sisters. Most commonly you'll see the troops taken in minimum squads with Flamer + Heavy Flamer inside Immolators with multimelta. Gives a mobile platform for the multimeltas and honestly, unless you're taking larger squads (15+ with a priest) they're just not very survivable. Add to that the fact that we have excellent access to special and heavy weapons in even the smallest squad, I prefer to either run max-size squads or minimum, and get more of them. I'd also say that multimeltas on retributors aren't that great, especially outside a vehicle. It's just too short-ranged. Now, 4x Heavy Flamers in a Rhino or allied drop pod, that's a scary thing for most infantry to face. Even enemy terminators would need to be wary of that.

Honestly though, looking at this list I'd take the troops in 5-girl squads with the Flamer/Heavy Flamer inside MM Immolators, swap the Canoness for Celestine and drop the retributors for some seraphim with two girls having dual hand flamers. All the flamers give you something to deal with hordes that will bog down your terminators, and seraphim+Celestine is a fast unit that can get where you need them. Since it's an allied detachment you might drop one of the troops to get the necessary points for the changes, and if there are extra points you might be able to squeeze in another exorcist. I haven't looked at points while typing this out so I'm not sure what all will fit.

I will say that money-wise it might be better to go the full Deathwing route. I love Sisters but they're metal and expensive. Just something to think about.

If you want a good antitank, IMO you should be served elsewhere than SoB. They are not the best and costs stack up nicely.

I'm personally a fan of LoTD, especially Some crazy numbers like 15-20 guys loaded with Melta coming Turn 2 thanks to some reserves control and you are good to go.

Check out Librarius Conclave, your own codex antitank etc.

I also don't think your rosters are valid, you can't take Termies troops inside of CAD anymore.

Thanks for the replies both sound intresting altough as I understood I can take then take them as a deathwing redemption formation? That needs to consist of belial, 2-5 termies and then a choice of knights/command squad or venerable dread?

They can't deploy normally inside of that Redemtion Whatever formation - gotta start in reserves - so you can't take it really.

There is some kind of special FoC for deathwing in that book though. Run down your options properly.

I'd suggest atleast 1 thunderhammer/SS in each deathwing squad to tank for the squad - its one of their advantages being able to mix assault termies with shooty ones

bad news battle brother: the new codex made that much harder. 100% Deathwing armies are no longer possible, and it's difficult to make work with allies other than Ravenwing.

Both the Deathwing formation and the superior Deathwing Strike Force detachment require the entire detachment to start the game in Deep Strike Reserves (yes this includes Dedicated Transport Drop Pods and Land Raiders).
