So, the combo consists of:

Fabius Bile (Not the Warlord)

19 Chaos Space Marines:
Champion with 2x Lightning Claw - 2 Flamers - all bolters replaced with CCWs.

Spartan Assault Tank.

Fabius grants everyone Fearless and +1 Strength. So they roll up in the Spartan, get out, drop two templates then charge in with an extra attack. Of course it's not the most competitive but it will be damn powerful in a more casual game. Thoughts, anyone?

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

I like it. I did use Fabius Bile a fair amount in 5th Editin. He ws cheap for whatr he did and I had to have a lord. throwing him into a big squad kinda writes itself as a good idea.

Seems like a fun idea, the number of attacks that unit would get is, mind boggling to say the least.

I have played 5 games with a friend of mine who runs this set up, but a bit different.

He ran about 20 CSM armed with CCQ weapons, a guy with a banner of excess (so FNP), Fabius and a Chaos Lord with bolt pistol and power sword. They were also footslogging.

Now to be honest I though it was pretty gakky. Easily blown up by shooting and pie plates and the one time it got in meele in our 5 games (I play SM and Orks so no super godlike shooting) it was with a bunch of meganobs who ran it over.

How I advised he changed it is a lot like you have. Putting them in a transport is really smart as is giving them flamers. I would advise getting them a banner if possible (I dont know how easy that is to do as I dont play Chaos, but the FNP served him well) and a source of AP2.

Now he told me Fabulous adds +1 strength to their profile directly which means a powerfist is strength 10. Not sure if thats how it actually works, but I let him have it.

Why Flamers? Bolt Pistols and Melee weapons mean you won't have to worry about hordes. Might as well spend the extra 10 points for two Melta Guns instead.

No point. the rest of the army ought to be opening the cans.

hahaha agreed on the hammerhand that is a fantastic idea. Yea, transport for sure and i think its a nice little group. I'd personally swing away from the twin lightningclaws but hey if youre hoping for boons why not

I've run him just once in 6-th. He enchanted a unit of 20 MoS marines that than got outflanked by a steed lord. I was playing against a pretty decent ig tank gunline with aegis - it was quite potent back in 6 - and enchanted marines did great. They actually won me a game. In the end there was just wounded Fabius bile and a couple marines left. Lord died, most marines died, the rest of my list mostly died also - had just a few noize marines scattered here and there - while the opponent lostmost of his tanks, pasknisher warlord, a screening platoon. In the end, i won with just a point or two ahead of him. Anywayz, it was fun.

I had an idea of making khorne marines s8 on the charge. Icon, hammerhand, Fabius. It's very unpractical but it'd be hilarious to watch a bunch of marines disassembling an imperial knight with their bare hands.

They're going to be up where the tanks are, and potentially blowing up a transport to assault what's inside means they're actually able to tackle more units.

Anything with Bolters is just fine for hordes.

At first I thought it expensive, but with a 20 model unit that's only 1.5 points per man for FNP! How did I miss that?

How cruel. How very, very cruel. Take an allied detachment for the Sorcerer, get some minimal cultist troops to keep my biker lord. Perhaps put the Sorcerer on a steed to have them outflank if I ever find myself not being able to use FW.

I'm really liking all the feedback guys, thank you all.

Hm. I only thought to take the claws for the extra attack and decent AP. Perhaps it would be worth taking a Power Fist? Or perhaps no upgrades and try to keep the already expensive squad slightly cheaper?

Chaos Space Marine dedicated to Slaanesh

I kind of did the above for fun in a game, double cad, 2 ML3 sorcs going for Hammerhand and Endurance (and getting both for once), plus twenty MoK Marines (for extra attacks), Fabulous Bill (Enhanced) and Cypher (Hit and run, extra cover saves).

It was kind of fun, but we got into a lot of strange situations since I played them as a wide row of marines just marching forward, which resulted in multicharges with like 3-4 quite widly spaced units .

This silence offends Slaanesh! Things will get loud now!

My problem running spartans in 40k is that grav and haywire weapons will compleatly invalidate them. Then you have 500 points of slow sitting in the middle of the table.
But thats really an issue with those weapons and their part in breaking the game's design.

MoS Psykers also work. You can buff your dudes and debuff their dudes before you charge.

I ran 20 MoS with the Icon. I didn't use Fabulous, but did use Huron. Huron automatically gets Master of Deception as his warlord trait, meaning you can infiltrate d3 units. If you're thinking about running Fabulous Marines I'd say this is the way to go. I put my big blob smack dab in the middle of the board (with Melta), and dared my opponent to try to get around me. If you can catch you're opponent without any ap3 blast templates, this set up is a pain in the to remove.
