Those unit sizes for the melee troops are too small, a 20 man block is a reasonable defensive unit, but if you're going on the attack a 40 man block is best. Ranged troops are fine at 10-16. I'd say a canon and an organ gun isn't too cheesy, the cheese is when you have 3 canons or 2 canons and 2 grudge throwers.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

We can discuss 8th here ok, it isnt dead. Dakka should never have stamped AoS over every Warhammer fantasy forum. Some of us havent accepted AoS and likely never will. This is ok as a start. As mentioned you need to build up unit bulk before adding new units but the above is acceptable in 8th without any problems. Its a starter list and is there to face another starter size list. Your opponent zshould match you with something similar in composition like what they would find in Isle of Dread rather than take two large blocks of troops and steadfast the night away.

And yet, you are still here. There is a Fantasy forum. This is actually an Age of Sigmar Forum. Want fantasy, I think you need to go to GamesWorkshop Specialist and Unsupported games forum. So I can't understand for someone who hasn't accepted AoS, you are in an AoS forum. I haven't seen any Fantasy talked about here at all.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I think you need to add a cannon before anything. Dwarves don't have much incentive to move in a pitched battle, but with that gunline you'll likely find the enemy is still pretty much intact when they arrive at your lines.
After that I would bulk out some units, consider some quarrellers, and maybe then get a Gyrocopter (just so you have something to do in the movement phase, and because they are great models :-) )

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-) |

The also removed op as gak named characters and added a ton of new options to every army. It actually makes all your units in an army playable.

So, you have a nice start to your army. Personally, I think you need more Dwarf Warriors to at least be able to field a unit of 25-30. While you're building up Warriors, you could build up a unit of Longbeards and possibly a second unit of Thunderers or Quarrellers to round out your Core. You already have 10 Ironbreakers which is a good start, but you need at least another 10 to field a unit of 20. After that, I think you're on a good path with adding a Gyrocopter. No Dwarf army should be without at least 1 cannon and a grudge thrower is also a good option.
Enjoy playing Dwarfs! They are solid in 8th edition.
